The day that bauble is classed as a world championship is the day I give up following the sport.
Fair play to McCloskey; even at his advanced age stopping Tontchev is a good scalp but Fewkes boxed his head off not long ago (except for a last round scare..) and no one would claim Fewkes to be world champ.

And that was at lightweight too.

Excellent result and performance, but you could be done under the trade/thread descriptions act with a title like this one

Not sure why this thread has resurfaced now. McCloskey did his job well but Tontchev was shot to bits. Looking forward to seeing McCloskey step up again fighting Cesar Bazan at Letterkenny in a fortnight's time.

sorry mate - in my view Tontcho Tontchev was finished anyhow - saw him get sparked in Monte Carlo a while back and John Fewkes took him apart - a good learning fight would be as excited as I would get on beating Tontchev.

Well technically speaking i'm heading up and across to it i suppose
but yes i am looking forward to it as well. Ciaran Healy has apparently been added to fight Steve Conway, let's hope he comes in in better shape than against Pavel Lotah in his last fight.
With Neil Sinclair, Mike Perez and debutant Luke Wilton on the bill it should be a good one
