he didn't do it but there is no shame he showed more bollox than Calzaghe has ever had to fight someone of that ora of invincibility and gave up all of the advantages (home reff, home fight, big ring). From what I hear he held his own for a lot of the fight. Go back to your natural weight and batter Gavin Rees as a come back.

He swore and promised that Mayweather didnt stand a cat in hell's chance of winning.. and if he didnt say that his purse wouldnt have been half of what it was.............

I am so proud of him. He is truly a class act. There were no excuses from him in his post-fight interview, and he's got nothing to be ashamed of. He'll give Rees a proper kickin' back at light-welter.
I'm gutted. Just gutted.

How off the back of that can you diss Calzaghe? The man has beaten all his contemporaries - with ease. Calzaghe has perfomed at the highest level - and won. He is the best British fighter of the last 20 years.

I'm saying Calzaghe was never willing to go away and give away the advantages to fight another guy. I'm not slagging him off just saying Hatton is to be admiered for doing so.
Other guys home other guys reff massive ring, Calzaghe didn't go to germany.

Gutted but not surprised is the the words I would use also.
Ricky is a UK fighter - deep down I wanted hm to win - he didn't so time to move on - interesting what he does next - someone has touched on the name I think it will be - Gavin Rees.
Mayweather is a class act - we should give credit where it is due.

I have all the praise in the world for Ricky's effort tonight, he may have been KO'd but he showed he belonged in the ring with the best P4P fighter in the world...

Not sure he came across that well. Did he credit Mayweather for being better?

I've been known as a critic but felt bad for him in the end. Although not the bad, you can do that to me 20 times for 20 million. However what happened to no excuses - 'I guess he was a natural welterweight and I'm a ligt welter

'

I suppose every fighter has what ifs.
BOTH LOOKED POOR AND PAST PRIME THOUGH DISAPOINTING PERFORMANCE LEVELS FROM BOTH. Ricky should have jabbed and look to have throw bodyshot combos and uppercuts at mid-range instead of hooking, he had success when he did that. PBF should have been faster he looked SLOW but had good timing
DID ANYONE NOTICE PBF TAKING A BIG LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY IN R5?????????????? He was hurt and hid that side of his body for the next round.

Ricky was desperately trying not to make excuses.. as much as he wanted to..

Was going to say something similar - Ricky is a class boxer - he is the peoples champion - I only wish he could have been a little more humble to being beaten fair and square by the better man.
As it happens thought Mayweather was class in his interview - he could have easily ranted and raved - he didn't - thats class.

theres no disgrace in losing to mayweather, who i regard as one of the top 5 boxers of all time,as a man he's a twat but his skills in the ring are unquestioned...
what now for ricky??
does he go back to 140 and clean up?
or
does he have 1 massive payday and get out?
and by that i mean hatton v ODLH @ wembley with 100,000 in attendance

Why he does he need yet another payday..?? He's made 10's and 10's of millions by conning us..
Oscar would absolutely obliterate him in a few rounds..

very competitive fight for 6 rds.
i had hatton ahead actually.
3-2 with the 6th rd even.
but from the 7th mayweather speed and sharpness began to take over.
floyd did better inside than i thought. he spoiled a lot and managed to offset lots of hatton's attack. hatton wasn't getting any success and get more and more tired.
the finish was a bit embarassing. nice little bounce of the ringpost for even greater effect.

i was pleased cortez jumped it though. hatton was gone. :(

I reckon Hatton tries to unify Light Welter and then retire.
The DLH fight I think is off. For one, Hatton will want to avoid Welter now and two, the mega-fight label has now worn off the potential match up and it would just be 2 "Mayweather victims" squaring off.
He beats all the champs at 140 in my book.
I'll be interested in hearing Witter's first comments on the fight.

That's the early stages of denial having Ricky ahead. Mayweather won almost all of the rounds. You don't win rounds trying to wrestle. You win rounds boxing effectively. Guess who did more of the latter?

I only had Ricky winning 5 and 6, maybe another round but he had problems landing anything and couldnt wrestle and hit as he likes to

a few debateable rds early on.
i can accept some having it wider than others.
just reading around and some had it 7-2 or 8-1 floyd and some only had it 5-4 or 6-3 floyd.

I thought Ricky was effective but Floyd edged most of the rounds. DID YOU NOTICE THE BIG LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY THAT HAD PBF HIDING HIS LEFT SIDE HH?
It may have been different if Ricky had been allowed his game and Floyd wasnt protected when he turned his back
I'm know on here as a Hatton hater, but my heart went out to him tonight, its been some journey and its still going.
