I can remember them singing quite loudly even after Hatton lost, so I don't think he did.

Anyway, the anthem booing was embarrassing, I was cringing throughout their anthem.

Sadly, this fight seems to have attracted the football hooligan fraternity.

The majority of them know little about boxing & have jumped on this massive Ricky Hatton bandwagon that has been rolling around the UK.

The majority of them have probably hardly ever seen any of Ricky's fights & are only there for the ride.

I wanted Ricky to win, but I always felt that it would be a tall order & an upset if he did win.

There's been an embarrassing post fight phone-in on Talksport & the majority of callers have been shocked that Mayweather is actually a very good fighter.!

Fcuk anthems and fornicate your sense of patriotism because people use it when it suits just like you are.

The best man won because of his genius, he made hatton look like a slugger, and he'd do it again and again to hatton. Full credit to Floyd he is the best and he showed it.

Unlucky ricky lots of heart but the league you fought in was in another universe.

Watching the weigh-in, I was thinking to myself how much it sounded like a football match, even more so at the actual fight. The chanting is cool, the booing not so much, drunk fights afterwards let's just hope not.

No, it seems to be a part of BRITISH (I'd even say English) sport, difference.

If you're happy to be a part of the dribbling, drunken rabble whose support seems to amount to slagging off the opposition and singing different versions of 'Winter Wonderland' depending on who their flavour of the month is at the time, then fine.

A lot of fans like to behave with a bit of respect. Unfortunately, those fans are tarred with the same brush as those twats tonight.

it's a reflection of life in Britain, the worst attitude (in general) among people as a whole that I have ever experienced and I've been in over 20 countries.

in fact Michael Palin said the same thing after travelling the world & documenting his experience in his award winning series when he returned back to British shores!

NOT all of us, but far to many of us are arrogant, ignorant, patriotic and partisan to the piont of Blindness & dishonesty!

and I Love Britain, and so does Sir Michael, shame!

After being fed a diet of views during my life that Americans were large, fat obnoxious bores, I was pleasantly surprised over the summer when I went over to Vegas and San Francisco to find them amongst the friendliest people I've met.

They'd stop and talk to you in the street, never afraid to say hi or to answer any question you put to them. Even running into some kids in a lift (the type where, over here, you'd be worried about being happy slapped...you know the ones, baseball caps, bikes etc) they immediately started talking to us about where we were from, were we enjoying our stay etc.

As I said, I agree with your posting. In the countries I've visited, the worst people for attitude I've come across are my own, and that doesn't make me proud.

In my opinion, it is just an anthem. So 'God Save the Queen' doesn't get booed at Murrayfield during the 6 nations? I wonder whose doing that? It must be the English!

I don't personally take offence what anthem gets booed, do others? I don't know. I laughed when Buffer pleaded to 'show respect for the anthems' (meaning please don't boo our sacred anthem) but Tyrese Gibson sung it well and put up a good show despite the abuse!

At the end of the day, the Americans knew what they were getting, which was the support Hatton attracted which spent its dollars all over the strip
and if Hatton fights again, I doubt the Hatton fans booing the anthem will stop de la Hoya from booking Hatton again.

I think it was part of the circus of last night, you had all these overgrown kids who were away from the wives and children and they brought this (sometimes unsavoury) dimension of British culture to Vegas.

I don't think it is something to get wound up about. Not an anthem anyway, I wish Tom Jones had something better to sing than 'God Save the Queen'

I think boxing and football fans are often similar because they attend both sports - When a fighter or a team represent their country, you should respect their anthem - Booing people or their anthems is disgusting, childish behaviour - It doesnt happen in F1, the fans are more civilized - Many so called boxing/football fans are not really fans at all and are there just to cause trouble and cant handle alcohol - True fans of sport are usually responsible, decent people.

somebody needs to make an issue of this and get the crowd to act in a more british manner. it doesnt happen with any other crowd.

There's a lot to boo about America of recent. But we know Hatton draws a lot of fans, and a large majority of them don't seem to be the knowledgable/passionate Brits renowned for coming over to see Lennox or Naz. So he draws a lot of football dickheads; I guess that comes with having a big British following.

come on autobahn, those morons boo every other national anthem no matter what the circumstances.
