it was unlucky to be honest wayne but in truth the fight was a bit of a mis match, it had abraham stoppage written all over it.

I think this fight is being shown on ITV 4 on Thursday. Can anyone confirm this?

Wayne did his best, but his limit has been well and truly exposed.

Great timing by the ref in terms of the stoppage. AA looks strong as an ox in there. Bit static in terms of movement (especially the head, as he relies on that tight guard), but his strength and power will give any middleweight out there problems.
AA vs Pavlik is a must - great tear-up that I'd favour Pavlik to win based on his superior boxing skills... can see him using his superior reach to control the fight with his jab, but would have to come through some rough, rough moments (again!).

Sounds promising, Abraham is a lot better than people give him credit for. Physically strong, hard puncher and has a lot of guile about him, even though rumours of stamina issues persist we didn't find out on Saturday night about that!

Another shot to the temple drops Elcock, reminded me of the Murphy KO. I would have only given it even or by 10-9 to Abraham personally, other than that right hand what exactly did he do in that 2nd round? I thought Elcock was winning it.

looked on the listings and there is an 11 till midnight slot on Thurs, which is blank at the moment, fingers crossed...

Abraham-Elcock is on ITV4 at 9pm on Thurs. They just announced it during the Liverpool-Marseille match on ITV1

yeah thats true as far as i know, my mate mcewan who fought on the british invasion bill on the friday nite fight is getting shown aswell

Elcock was terrible, he certainly did not go out on his shield! I was very surprised by how easy Abraham took him out.

Elcock should think about changing proffessions now.

That's a bit harsh. He landed a few shots, showed fast hands and was at risk of being decapitated due to staying on his feet. Would you have taken those punches any better?

Your right, i was a bit harsh there, slightly OTT i went.

However, i will be taking no interest any any future Elcock fights. I hope he is kept far away from the elite because this guy is a danger to himself at world level!

Hi gents dont usually feel the need to come on here altho always pop on from time to time to read your thoughts.
This time however I felt the need to post my take of the recent events and clear a few things up and to also let everyone know I am definatly far from finished and I have learned so much from the Abrahams experience and I know it will make me a better fighter.
It was always going to be a big ask after having to whip myself in shape so soon after my last fight having only ten days off to recover from 12 rounds and carrying a hand and arm injury that dogged me throughout my training camp which I picked up in the Eastman fight .
I recieved a number of injections to help speed up the healing process before throwing myself straight back into heavy training altho to be honest my injuries did not hamper me on the night and I refuse to believe they stopped me performing any better.
I have no regrets about taking the fight and there are not many fighters that fight two twelve rounders back to back against the opposition I had to face but I have never ducked a challenge and simply could not refuse been given the chance to fight for one of the best belts out there.
I do know I was not at my best mentally and I got caught up in the hype and media surrounding the fight as its something I am not use to having German tv in your pocket the whole time I was there public workouts big press confereces etc etc ...but unless you taste it you can not learn from it and learn how to deal with it.
I'm taking nothing away from Abrahams he showed great composure and showed why he is champion and even tho I felt I was not at my best I did not feel at anytime out of my depth in the rounds before the stoppage and he did not really give me much to worry about.
After having a good fourth I felt I was growing in confidence and looked at standing more something that was in the plan but at a much later stage of the contest when I felt Abrahams would be tired as his stamina looked in fights I had watched a little suspect.
It is a mistake I now regret and feel if I had kept with the plan keeping on my toes I maybe could have produced another shocker but that is something I must prove and its how I come back that will settle that argument.
My chin is fine and if you make a mistake at that level thats what happens and the shots I took flush from a puncher like Abrahams anyone would go from its as simple as that
After having a much needed break I will go with my original plan before this fight came up and come back in 2008 to defend my British as I want to win it outright before moving on for the European which will hopefully secure another shot again at the highest level.
Altho the fight did not go to plan I enjoyed my experience fighting abroad for the first time against one of the divisions elite and I have took alot away from it.
Fair play to the ref who was spot on with the stoppage and stopped me taking needless punishment to comeback and fight another day.
There is still plenty of desire and determination left in the old dog yet and after testing the water after only 20 fights I want more only next time obviously a different result ha ha
Thanks to all the guys that have supported me and defended me in the past on here and the brits that came over to support me in Switzerland much appreciated hope you keep the faith as I still have in my ability.
It was not to be on the night but we will have happier times in the new year that I promise not woried about any critiscm that comes back everyone is entitled to there own opinion about me and how far I will go or not go I have proved in the past the doubters wrong and look forward to doing so again.

Well done Wayne - Abraham is a class opponent, you did yourself proud.

I haven't been able to see the Eastman fight, but believe on your last performances that you will be able to give Slyvester a fair shot for the EU.

Classy post Wayne I was watching on Sat night and thought you handled the pressure really well, looked like you had a real chance to test AA in the later rounds for awhile there, but the finishing shots he caught you with would have put most fighters in big trouble.

I reckon you'll come back strong, no shame is losing to the best middleweight on the planet.

well i thought Elcock was doing ok, but always looked like he might get steamrollered at any time. Also i was thinking that Herol Graham in his prime would have toyed with Abraham.

Like i said in a previous post i thought Elcock was ahead and doing okay. Abraham is a serious contender for the best Middleweight and i think it's time for him to get in there with the Americans. As for Wayne, i have been a fan after the Farnell fight when he boxed well. Hopefully he can defend the British title and carve out a shot at the European or maybe someone like Duddy.
