I just got my £15 back off Sky Box Office!

:TU: I called them up, had to argue with couple of people but I am totally f*cked off they showed effing adverts DURING the Hatton fight. I mean, I pay for Sky Sport, then I pay for any decent fight they have then I have to sit through adverts during the actual main event.

I have to pay to see adverts?!?!?!?!

No f-ing way! I called them up and gave them a choice, give me my £15 back or I cancel my Sky Sports sub there and then (and I meant it; Setanta has better boxing anyway).

They tried to call my bluff, then tried to say "the Promoter is in charge of adverts", then tried to say Sky only has adverts because HBO is in charge of broadcast (HBO PPV has NO ads whatsoever! liars!) but, finally, after me arguing my case I was passed on to manager after manager until, finally, I got my money back and an apology.

Chalk up one for the armchair fan! Down with Murdock! :box: :box:

You do make a good point, i was surprised to see adverts as when it's Box Office they usually do away with them. However it was such a major event they probably thought they chance their arm and cash in big time. Down with the capitalist system etc.....

You do realise you probably paid £14.99 ringing their premium 0870 line after being passed from manager to manager

Please. I am no dummy. I used Skype to call them and paid a grand total of 2p. :TU:

I don't mind between-rounds ads so much (so long as we don't miss a vital replay), but the ad breaks in between fights were crazy - something like five minutes' worth every five minutes.

No replays in between the 1st and 2nd round even though Hatton seemed to buckle Mayweather's legs a bit with a left hook. Whenever Floyd landed the big shots though there were soon replays in between rounds. HBO protecting their investment.

i hate the advert's between the rounds, you can miss so much going on in that minute. Also it shows you who's a good trainer, cutman etc. It must be one of the only sports that cameras and microphones can look in on the workings of the trainers at work. Instead i have to sit through an advert for some shite car i'm never going to buy.

Yeh they piss me off too, if its ITV or friday night fights I recognise them as a nature of the beast kind of thing but I get pissed if I have payed for a fight and still have to watch the fuckers

the last 3 quotes are good ones :TU:

my gripe: the replays weren't replays in that they changed the order of the fights. I was going to have friends over Sunday who hadn't caught it and for the life of me I couldn't work out the schedule.
Ended up sitting through 3 boring rounds of the utterly unwatchable Ponce de Leon who seems to be on every major American Show.

Plus, the sneaky little fookers played HIGHLIGHTS of the WIGAN bill.........I walked out the room after about 6 rounds of Portman and came back say, ten minutes later MAXIMUM and it's round 5 of Ali Nuumbembe, which I was highly looking forward too !!

By the way, had no problems recording it, so better to do that than watch the repeats.

I am glad it was shown in wide screen feed. Hopefully more fights from aboard will be shown in 16:9 format. Yes the adverts during the Hatton fight were annoying. I wonder if SKY will release buying figures from this county alone. People at work who never watch boxing ordered this fight it must of been a PPV success.

I started watching on ITV4 at 7.40pm. Between that and the end of the big fight I must have watched many hours of adverts. No I do not want a new fornicating car.

I doubt Sky would release the figures from anyone's county
