Hatton Rumours

Good Article this :
Hatton Rumours ...
And just for you Rhino in conjunction with my other posts elsewhere ;) I have highlighted this particular bit in the article:
But before any dates or opponents are considered, problems in the Hatton camp need to be addressed. There have often been rumours of discord in Team Hatton, but this week it had come close to open warfare. With passions running high, the problems came to a head.
UMmmmmm - maybe people will get the opportunity to say more soon.

I hate that! I hate the innuendo and suggestion. Why can't those who know or think they know just come out and say what the crack it. Open warfare between whom, and over what? What could there possibly be to fight over in the run up to a mega fight??

Not aimed at you, old chap. Although you're as guilty as any
I mean, this guy's a journalist, he's meant to dig and expose. He's meant to deal in hard fact and details, not hearsay and vagueness.
The only excuse he has for a sentence as frustratingly tantalising as that is if he's close to a member of the camp and they've asked him to leak it out to the public but asked him to keep it off the record and to go into no details.

Who makes up Team Hatton??

The article mentions Juan Diaz as a possible future opponent, if he's planning on moving up in weight I'd say thats a good fight to be made. Personally I'd sooner him fight Witter but beggars cant be choosers.

Yes, but then we're back to the days of him fighting smaller fighters. He's a natural 140 man and should be fighting 140 pounders. Why not try to unify the division?? He could still do that...

You're right he should unify the division but can you see him fighting the likes of Rees, Torres or Witter (my fav choice) the only one I think he'll fight is Malignaggi (only because of the revenue it could create)
Diaz is only 24, he's due to fight Katsidis early next year. If he gets past that, I think he will, he could easily move up.
I cant see Hatton fighting again till the summer. A comeback fight against the new kid on the Light-welterweight block.

BigGar & Carbo.
I said on another thread in similar words - sometimes you want to spit things right out in the open - you want to do that because you believe what you are writing is correct or is your opinion.
In boxing if you do that you get hammered by a writ or threat of legal action. There are some on this forum who have experienced such a thing.
I am told there are lots of things in boxing will or maybe come out in the open one day - perhaps what Ron Lewis refers to in his article may indeed come out in the open - perhaps he hasn't got a clue - maybe its b*llocks and maybe there's no smoke without fire.
For whatever reason boxing has some form of code of silence - I don't know whether thats because they do not want legal action coming their way - or because that is the done thing in this sport.
Biggar - just for you
With regards to a next opponent I know Juan Diaz was one of the opponents Dennis considered for Ricky and that name was mentioned on here and elsewhere and it got slated - whats the difference now.

At least Diaz is a decent world champion, I would rather Hatton fight him than Rees, but Witter or Magnilaggi would be better fights. But both would cause Hatton trouble with their styles, especially Witter who would knock Ricky out I think...
As for the rumours, theres always arguments going on in the background, I'm sure theres no big deal to it and it had no bearing on the outcome of the fight...

Sense of De Ja Vue with this thread.
'I know a secret I can't tell' - wink wink
'It will all come out one day' - yada yada yada
Reminds of once upon a time on ESB.

What exactly is the point of this thread? "I think I know something but I'm not telling."
Why bother?

It is heavily rumoured that Billy Graham and chief bag-carrier Paul Speak nearly came to blows several times during preparation. Graham has never liked nor suffered the camera wearing ex-cop who is noting more than a hanger-on who bows to Hatton's every whim and makes sure Ray's bum is sparkly clean.
Billy feels that too many people are back-slapping and arranging things for Hatton when he should be concentrating on getting in shape.
It's been brewing along time and Speak is being blamed by Graham for alot of the problems within.
Speak knws jack-all about boxing or business being a career copper all his life. Even Lonsdale were dropped with no repalcement sponsor due to Speak being greedy.
The Hatton camp (Excluding Ricky) acted like drunken louts for most of their US stay with the aforementioned getting increasingly irritable with each other throughout.

His post had a point to it and was informative. What you posted was pretty pointless. Why comment at all if you're not going to tell the whole story?

I don't really hate at all Spud, couldn't care less to be honest - I have a life outside of trying to build bizarre little empires on boxing internet forums and ingratiate myself with boxing promoters/camps. Oo can I be mod? Can I make the tea? Can I bask in the supposed reflected hardness of being associated with a fighter?
I'm just a plain old boxing fan and quite enjoy the generally chilled out nature of the forum and then you pop up with your 'secret squirrel' posts and I just think it's pretty sad.

I agree. I'm happy for the likes of Spud to contribute but don't like any of the "I know something you don't know" bullsh1t.
