am i wrong to believe joe louis acted in some movie if im not were they any good and could he act?

I remember he had a walk on in Quincy in the 70's, he didn't have to do much except shake shake Jack Klugman's hand and look menacing, but he did it very well.

In the 30's he did a film, "The Spirit Of Youth." I've only seen snippets of it but from the scenes I witnessed Louis was not a very convincing actor. You could see him visibly trying to remember his lines.

Louis was an absolutley horrible actor.
So was Dempsey - even though he did his films during the silent film era.

Probably the best boxer turned actor was Victor McLaglen who won an academy award in 1935.
But you could easily argue that he was an actor who boxed rather than a boxer to later acted.

James Corbett was said to be a good stage actor, but he was never filmed while doing this.
Got a feeling we would find his acting rather corny today though.
