They seem to be doing very well so far but before long, none of the "directors" will be fighting any more. Would it then still be worth keeping the likes of Hopkins, Mosley and Barrera? Something tells me that these guys will eventually be bumped off the books once their worth to the company evaporates i.e. when they no longer have careers to promote - sooner rather than later in Barreras case. Why keep these guys on in a few years when their presence would no longer have the same draw and they can be replaced with the latest batch of popular active fighters? It all looks rosy now but I have to say I don't see it lasting long term.

I always thought that Golden Boy were setting themselves up like a record label where they have an important figure head like Hopkins, Barerra and Mosley who then have their own camp of fighters that they manage, train, match etc.
Like Dr Dre, Enemin, D12 etc.

Yeah, I'm surprised Ricky hasn't been set up with a UK branch to expand the Golden Boy name.

They don't have a heavyweight, not that there are many arround but it appears that Don still runs the HW devision. Who actualy owns goldenboy and does the work cos its clearly not Oscer!

Oscar owns it, but Schaeffer is definitely the wheel man.

Yeah Sultan according to the website.
Technically Witter is their only UK based fighter as McEwan is in the States.

After watching this weeks KOTV who reported the Golden Boy Promotions have matched Juan Diaz and Michael Katzsides, it's clear to me boxing needs promotional companies like Oscar's so badly.
They are a God send IMO and hope they are here to stay.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Mayweather Promotions?
Is he serious about actually promoting shows or will it go the way of Prince Promotions, Square ring and Lion promotions?

My favourite is Winky Promotions. He even has three fighters signed apart from himself, although none of them have a picture on the site. Nagy Aguilera at Heavyweight, Jose Rodriquez at Junior Middle and Carlos Basora at Junior Lightweight.
