Hatton sounds & looks like damaged goods to me.

On tonights setanta interview Hatton sounded like the beating PBF gave him has done him....his speech is slower.

Also Hatton looks like he's about to burst into tears everytime the Mayweather fight is mentioned.

It's a bit early to tell but i think Hatton's done wheter he wants to admit it or not.

Hatton likes killing off his brain cells with beer instead of letting his mind repair, that along with pilling back on the pounds over christmas will make it all the harder for him to comeback from this beating.

You could just tell he wants no part of a fighter like Jnr Witter who will mentally abuse him like PBF did in the run up to the fight.

This is a true case of the bully getting his arse handed to him.

Nigel Benn suffered a big breakdown after his loss to Watson. While Naz Hamed basically lost his desire after the Barrera loss.

It'll be interesting.

Are you a Hatton hater? Why are you starting all these new threads on topics we were discussing last week? Search for the thread on Hatton's speech that was started after the Mayweather fight.

Oh, now all of a sudden people are making an issue of the way Hatton looked since the Zoo fight, you were all writing it off as bad matchups against southpaws and WW's before now....funny how people can be smart a$$es in retrospect.

It's a real shame that some people have to take more enjoyment from a Ricky Hatton loss than they do from a Junior Witter win.

Don't think he took that many bruising shots against Mayweather except in the 8th and 10th but the KO was clean enough and I can't imagine he suffered any long term damage from it other than pride.

I think he actually took more punishment from Kostya Tszyu but Tszyu couldn't find the difference making punch before Hatton's pressure got to him.

i think hatton has looked very ordinary since he beat tszyu its as if that were his peak performance

Yes i read other thread on diffent boards about this...and i also read people writing it off as Hatton being drunk....so i thought it was worthy of bringing it up again as Hatton was clearly not pissed.

I'm still kicking myself that I bought into Ricky's hype (and told everyone down the pub that he was going to do him).

I did it before the Collazo fight, when he said "I'll be a better welterweight than I was a light-welterweight and that's frightening", and before the Urango fight when he said "You'll be watching the pound-for-pound most exciting fighter in the world". I did it again when he said Mayweather "doesn't stand a cat in hell's chance" of winning.

I won't be listening to his big talk ever again. I got a few casual fans buying the Collazo and Urango PPV's and a few non-fans buying the Mayweather one. I've taken stick.

In future, Hatton should just let his fists do the talking if he can't back up his big words.

His peak performance was Tackie.

Hatton has a young man's style if there ever was one, and a short-career lifestyle if there ever was one.

Tackie was his peak performance. Period.

Tszyu was just everything he had left.

And Dempsey had the cheek to say Hatton didn't let anyone down

it would have done ricky a lot of good to have lost a fight early on in his career. this loss seems to have hit him hard psychologically

Exactly what Nigel Benn said in the first half of 2004 - he was advising Ricky to go in with Mayweather then!

What do you want me to say....i am happy that Hatton got KTFO?....yes well i am...very happy because IMO Hatton has hijacked British boxing for years now, also his fans are the most moronic breeds i have ever known....this is my oppinion of course and i am not asking anyone else to agree.

No, I think it's very obvious that you're happy that Hatton was stopped last weekend. I'd just like you to acknowledge that you're a somewhat petty man. I don't have a problem with you disliking the attention Hatton has recieved in relation to Witter, I don't have a problem with you preferring Witter to Hatton and I don't have a problem with you thinking Witter beats Hatton. I just find it somewhat daft that you only show your face after Hatton finally loses. And loses to the best fighter in the world. I find it particularly daft that you start with a thread entitled 'I always said Hatton was not very good' when you haven't actually said anything on this forum up until that point.

I'll do you a swap deal here: You can have an apostrophe and the letter e, and I'll get an explanation of why I'm wrong.

I'll catch up with the thread later cos I ain't read all of it but you need to switch off the computer now and get some fresh air cos you've just written a load of boll*cks and I'm not saying that to be rude as I hope, and don't think I am regarded as a rude person by forum members.

One - how do you know what Hatton is and isn't drinking or getting up to ? I don't think you do really.
I imagine there's a lot more resting going on than u reckon.

Two - While I agree Witter would beat Hatton by KO, I (having missed that particular part of the interview) doubt Hatton would be nearly bawling his eyes out. Between rounds of (A  )AA and Steve "I'll punch you on this side of the ropes and that f*cking side of the ropes too mate" Foster (seriously I think he regarded them as a mere suggestion of where boxing was permitted when Arthur went down) - but anyway, Hatton seemed ok to me. So what if he doesn't sound like he did 2 weeks ago, it's early days yet and I would guess (having no medical expertise at all if you disregard my Bronze Medallion in Lifesaving) that his brain is still a bit bruised and mending. In addition Hatton must have gone nearly insane with the cameras on him for that long in the run up to the fight, not that he'll be bothered as he is now minted for that very reason.

It's a silly statement based on I am guessing, zero years at medical school. I haven't read the other 44 posts you have made on this, your first day as a boxrec member, I can only assume they must be better than the above. :box:
