just a point - ricky would have benefitted from having lost early on in his career. the damage from losing his "o" against floyd has hit him very hard from a psychological point of view.
its good for a bloke to taste a defeat in his formative years.

It didn't do Haye any harm either. Think boxers of today get obsessed by keeping that 0 in the column. You get beat sometimes and if its by someone like Mayweather then its no disgrace. At least you tried.

It's so easy to say that after you lost though, hence why it crossed barely anyones mind before he lost.

Didn't do Rocky any harm, people will be talking about him forever, purely for that reason.. So would a loss of helped him? Hell no.

thats because he wasnt obsessed with keeping an "o" just didnt believe any man could beat him - theres a big difference.

if he had fought witter he would have gained the experience to possibly beat mayweather.

without it he was beaten easily.

No one who's lost is gonna beat Mayweather imo.

That mental edge is Mayweather's from the start.

I think Mayweather would lose if he fought a bigger guy with a good tank. looked beatable vs de la Hoya - if there was a GREAT natural welter around, Floyd would be curtains.

Its the "great" that causes the problem - the other "very good" ones all have downsides. For what its worth, I'd like to see Mayweather-Cotto, but I think the same would happen as in the Hatton fight with the challenger picked apart inside and out.

Except Cotto isn't a natural Welterweight... He's a natural Middleweight.

I'd like to see Cotto step in the ring with someone who weighs the same as him.

I thought Mayweather won the DLH fight handily. I had it about 9-3 or 8-4, and agreed with Kellermans assesement of the fight. I didn't think he looked beatable in that fight.

i think keeping the unbeaten record has served hatton well.

and the mayweather fight was good timing because it was a much bigger fight. it wouldn't have been as lucrative back in 2004.

cotto DLH would be a great spectacle for the fan
