Just worked with Robert McCracken on the Duddy/Eastman fight. Hatton & Briton can't ask for a finer gentleman to represent them. Judging by his ability to coach a downside contender to reach his optimum ability, he should rank as very fine trainer also. The famed Don Turner had nothing but praise for Robert.STP wrote:Robert McCracken.
He might have had the physical tools but he didnt have the mindset or drive to be the best - just look how poorly he performed when he had his big chances - he always flattered to deceive in my eyes.Razor wrote:McCracken sucks big time, i dont care if he reads this. Eastman had all the tools to be a world champion. He couldnt do shit with him, if Eastman was under a decent trainer he would of been a world champ. No doubt!
upset in the hatton camp is hardly new news...read my post yesterday...STP wrote:Robert McCracken.

Billy Graham is at the least 40% of Hattons success - Hatton I think abandoned the gameplan they cooked up together and fought wildly - If the rumours are true maybe Graham feels he has taken Ricky to the pinnacle and there isnt much left to do - McCracken is good at training young fighters on the way up but taking on a seasoned fighter like Ricky is, isnt going to work - Graham is a far better trainer and he knows Ricky through and through so staying with Billy is Hattons best chance of ending his career on top - Graham said a good while ago "Ricky and I have made more money than we ever dreamed of doing and the money isnt important any more" - Maybe Billy wants out now, he has known really bad times and now he is well off maybe he just wants to enjoy life, you cant blame him.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:If Robert McCracken is better than Billy Graham, I'm a Monkey's Uncle.
Exactly why I think his only option for a new trainer is Roach or Calzaghe. Maybe McGirt, but he's seconds tier IMO. The former 2 are the best.WildWaylon wrote:Billy Graham is at the least 40% of Hattons success - Hatton I think abandoned the gameplan they cooked up together and fought wildly - If the rumours are true maybe Graham feels he has taken Ricky to the pinnacle and there isnt much left to do - McCracken is good at training young fighters on the way up but taking on a seasoned fighter like Ricky is, isnt going to work - Graham is a far better trainer and he knows Ricky through and through so staying with Billy is Hattons best chance of ending his career on top - Graham said a good while ago "Ricky and I have made more money than we ever dreamed of doing and the money isnt important any more" - Maybe Billy wants out now, he has known really bad times and now he is well off maybe he just wants to enjoy life, you cant blame him.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:If Robert McCracken is better than Billy Graham, I'm a Monkey's Uncle.
I wonder whether this supposed rift might be to do with Graham urging him to retire and/or move down to 140.WildWaylon wrote:Billy Graham is at the least 40% of Hattons success - Hatton I think abandoned the gameplan they cooked up together and fought wildly - If the rumours are true maybe Graham feels he has taken Ricky to the pinnacle and there isnt much left to do - McCracken is good at training young fighters on the way up but taking on a seasoned fighter like Ricky is, isnt going to work - Graham is a far better trainer and he knows Ricky through and through so staying with Billy is Hattons best chance of ending his career on top - Graham said a good while ago "Ricky and I have made more money than we ever dreamed of doing and the money isnt important any more" - Maybe Billy wants out now, he has known really bad times and now he is well off maybe he just wants to enjoy life, you cant blame him.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:If Robert McCracken is better than Billy Graham, I'm a Monkey's Uncle.
For 5 or 10% of what Hatton earns, they'd definately take him.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I wonder whether this supposed rift might be to do with Graham urging him to retire and/or move down to 140.WildWaylon wrote:Billy Graham is at the least 40% of Hattons success - Hatton I think abandoned the gameplan they cooked up together and fought wildly - If the rumours are true maybe Graham feels he has taken Ricky to the pinnacle and there isnt much left to do - McCracken is good at training young fighters on the way up but taking on a seasoned fighter like Ricky is, isnt going to work - Graham is a far better trainer and he knows Ricky through and through so staying with Billy is Hattons best chance of ending his career on top - Graham said a good while ago "Ricky and I have made more money than we ever dreamed of doing and the money isnt important any more" - Maybe Billy wants out now, he has known really bad times and now he is well off maybe he just wants to enjoy life, you cant blame him.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:If Robert McCracken is better than Billy Graham, I'm a Monkey's Uncle.
Graham gave him some good advice, though in my opinion wasn't really firing Hatton up enough in there, and Ricky seemed to just completely ignore the game plan.
Hatton is too long in the tooth to learn much new, and to be honest, there's a limit to what can be done with a guy with his strengths. Maybe a bit more head movement, and come dipping to the side, but then again, these are things Hatton used to do more, although his head movement has always been a bit lacking.
I can't see someone like Calzaghe wanting to take him on at this stage, or being able to do that much with him.
Get back to 140 ricky, unify the division if you can, and then maybe one more foray into America.
No chance.STP wrote:Robert McCracken.
