David Haye was on BBC 1 just saying they offered a fight with someone i didnt get who it was but im 75% sure it was to Enzo Macc, they offered 500K, the biggest any cruiserweight has ever been offered he said and they turned it down. So wait for it... His next fight will be at Heavyweight and fighting as a heavy from now on. Horse's mouth...

500K, career highest purse. ONLY Haye's WBC/WBA titles on the line. Maccarinelli got to keep his WBO belt if/incase he lost. One off fight for the undisputed title.

Maccarinelli turned it down.

Enzo knows he would get smoked. He wouldn't catch Haye.

Thinking about it I just jumped on the Haye bandwagon for a moment. I still think he would win however.

Mac Is underrated though just because Haye sparked Mormeck. Mormeck was troubled by Gurov's height and reach, Mac would starch Mormeck too.

Would of picked Haye easily until Calzaghe gave Enzo a Lennox Lewis like style to box with.

Enzo has been looking great. But he is one paced for a man who's meant to be SO fit at cruiser, and he couldn't get his jab going vs Dominguez. It's debatable how many true world class wins Mac has had. Braithwaite, and...

Whereas Haye, drained, managed to ice Mormeck (better than Braithwaite) and startched the top 10 rated Gurov.

I think these short, squat guys - Mormeck, Dominguez, Cantatore - are trouble for Haye AND Macca, givne that they come in, make you fight when you don't want to, and slip under/inside the log jabs.

Mac still hasn't stepped it up yet properly yet. With Haye it's always interesting, even the "novelty fight" (Bonin), whereas Mac's mismatches are a bit sickening really.

Still like seeing Mac fight. We'll see what he's made of if he ever fights Huck, and the good Yanks on the way up Aaron Williams and Matt Godfrey and the various other up and comers out of Germany...

Haye just said on the Hatton show on BBC2 that it will be a big HW name highly ranked. Must be WBA or WBC rankings I guess.

Just watched it, he said hes been staying in shape, keeping his weight in check and doing everything he can to make the Enzo fight.

Then said everyones gonna get a huge shock when they see who his opponent at heavyweight is.....

Why are people picking Enzo, when Enzo himself doesn't even believe he can win.. he would be pissing his pants if he was about to fight Haye.

Now I'm not silly enough to say he's no chance, as Haye seems to have a sosgey chin.. but I think it's pretty safe to say Haye will land first.. and it could be a blow out if Enzo is caught in the headlights, like I think he would be.

Think that was a delayed quote Mario before Macca turned him down as the quote from him that started this thread was live.

Looks like it will be HW then, but annoyed that Macca has turned Booth down.

I'd expect Enzo to be ko-ed if those two fought, Haye is just too quick and a bigger puncher. I can't agree that Enzo would have had a similar result against Mormeck. Enzo couldn't even stop a ring rusty Braithwaite who looked half his size on the night.

It would be a wise decision for Enzo to duck him, let Haye move up and just defend that WBO until there's only soft opposition for the other belts. Follow the Calzaghe path.

It's a toughie to guess becuase presuming he's fighting in the UK, I don't see many Americans, especially any prospects fancying a) going over the pond and b) getting their face caved in by Haye. So I'd guess it might well be more of a "seasoned" guy. Byrd. McCall maybe. Meehan? Fingers crossed it's Ruiz and David can do a Tua on him.

Haye said his heavyweight opponent will shock everybody!

Kept saying he had a monster lined up, and that he wants to fight the best because thats what he is about.

All in all, it was good stuff

I would'nt be suprised to see him strike a deal with the BBC in the future.
They surely have to be looking for a fighter to back after boxings recent success over here.
Haye would be perfect.

Vladimir Virchis Not scedualed to fight anyone european beatable would be a supprise in terms of level. Didn't see the BBC coverage (was busy watching scousers cry) though I recorded it did haye say anything about time frames.

Yeh but look at the history of the two fighters Haye took on Carl Thompson in his 11th fight while Enzo Macrinelli took on Muhammed Azuri in his 29th and Bobby Gunn in his 27th.

Mormeck is a better fighter based on his record than Enzo or anyone he has ever fought and if he is the new Lennox lewis then he would be showing ambition and fighting the best.

Anyone can Look like Lewis against Bobby gunn.

I like Enzo and David - I think it's about promoters (esp on Enzo's side) not the fighters.

This would be the best British match up since EUbank-Benn but is unfortunstely unlikely to happne.


2 data points: 1) Haye has never shied away from risk 2) Allegedly FW has always protected his fighters......

Would be a brilliant fight thought Haye was funny "its a big fight for the fans, not for me cos I think I'll bowl him over in a couple of rounds but if the fans want it thats what I'm all about"

He came accross well, lets hope he is in the BBCs thoughts when and if they start back on proffesional boxing.

With Enzo,

Haye will move up, no doubt about it so lets rule that one out. Too much Politics and Haye is only interested in a weak HW divsion which he can explote

I have a funny feeling Frank will cherry pick another class act to take on the champion, step forward Rob Calloway.

Now a mis match I know, but Rob is a big cruiser and could give him a fight for a few rounds.
