Any chance of a SN response to Hayes claims he's offered 500k to make a fight between him and Maccarinelli happen?

Who's Mac fighting next? Anyone actually OF INTEREST, BC?

Or just another WBO lard bucket?

The usual WBO big name opponent.

By big name i mean a 40 yr old former big name whos been retired several yrs then mysteriously pops up wins an easy comeback fight & gets imported for a defence.

Orlin Norris, you have a call from Frankie boy waiting...

Haye's attitude is a sad reflection on the modern game.
Call me stupid but is this sarcasm? It must be??

So NO offer has been made by haye to fight Enzo, as claimed on the BBC programme on Sunday?

Somebody making false claims to a wide audience, sounds like Fwanks NOTW column!!! Hayes possibly retaliating to FW's comments such as "We've offered Haye the Enzo fight, but he doesn't want it"

I dont think there enough money in this one and too many politics for this fight to happen, Enzo wont take a lesser wage then Haye and visa a versa. People will want options, usually crap that stops fights from happening.

I know its a simplistic view of the situation, but I don't see why they can't have a 50/50 purse split with no options and hold it at a decent sized arena in Wales, maybe even have it as a homecoming fight for Enzo in Swansea.

I just don't think that the willing is there from both sides for this fight to happen (not blaming either side, although it is FW's fault  ). They couldn't agree on terms when they were both at the same weight, what chance do we stand now?

Its a disappointing and infuriating scenario (as is Hatton-Witter and Calzaghe-Froch). We've got 2 British Elite level fighters in the same weight class in 3 seperate divisions and they can't get any of them in the same ring

If Benn and Eubank were dead they'd be turning in their graves.

yeah, have it at the weight and locale suited to Mac, because he's The Man isn't he?

if Mac doesn't get all things his way and a win over Haye, it may take 10 years for him to finally step up properly.

i actually agree with chambers now.

hatton-witter should certainly happen.

witter has earned it in the ring.

and hatton has just been humbled by the best fighter p4p.

time for a football stadium homecoming fight against witter. :box:

Nigel Benn or Chris Eubank wouldn't go in with Herol Graham unless their life depended on it.

Similar thing with Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton not going in with Froch or Witter.

Well, they are both supposed to be cruisers. And I don't think there is much doubt that Mac would draw more fans in Wales than Haye would, well, anywhere really - I don't claim to agree with that because I think Haye is a top fighter and a genuine bloke, but the fact is he doesn't sell shit at the moment.

A compromise would be for Haye to vacate and them to fight at a catchweight of, say, 208

Just been thinking when was the last time that two British fighters fought for a main world title, i.e WBA/WBC/IBF title.

I can only dig up stuff from over ten years ago, i.e Reid vs Wharton & Hamed vs Hardy.

So this really would be historic.

208 simply puts too many of the advantages in macs favour. 200 or not at all for Maccarinelli I guess.

But how long has haye been saying h's a dead man walking with the weight makig at cruiser? That he's knocked out a heavyweight and that he looked drained vs Mormeck adds to that argument.

Mac wants Haye to make 200 one time too many. Is he scared of facing an opponent at his best?

I notice theres been no denial of ANY offer having been made.

Why Is Haye offering the fight at Cruiser when he's supposed to be so drained at Cruiserweight?

Because he is a proper fighter. He does not need Macca.
Exactly. He clearly just wants to put any arguments to bed. It's a sign of the kind of fighter he is that Haye even bothers with Maccarinelli after what he's just done to Mormeck in France. As a WBO champion, Maccarinelli isn't even really deserving of a crack. He SHOULD beat someone like Steve Cunningham or Guillermo Jones first. You know, prove he's the second best cruiser on the planet.

Proper fighters take fights that people want to see. Even if it requires taking a risk and, shock, horror, going overseas for it.
