What fights do you think are a must???

I have given up on Haye fighting at Cruiser again. He is at HW and we should back him all the way.
The fights I would love to see are
Macca v Herbie (If he comes through on 23/12
Witter v Hatton (come on Ricky, the fact you dont like him is no excuse for delaying or avoiding the fight. Do you think Kaylor liked Christie?
Johannsenn v Mitchell - which I am glad is happening next month, and in London too.

Hatton vs Witter is a must
I dont see why Froch would be on Calzaghes radar, Froch has proven nothing, and he would gain very little by fighting him.
Haye vs Macca id love to see, but i dont feel we will ever see it, and if macca was to win, i dont feel it would be an awfully big achievement as we all know about Haye's struggle at the weight, though that being said I still feel Haye would win.
And maybe in a few years time these fights might be in demand,
Murray vs Mitchell (he will eventually fill into a lightweight) and Barker vs Cleverley.

If he sorts himself out, how about Scott Harrison vs. Alex Arthur at a 132 catchweight? Similar styles - could be an all action slugfest in the Neary-Holligan mould.

I only agree with Hatton Vs Witter, Haye Vs Macca and Khan Vs Thaxton although I wouldn't lose sleep over the Haye Vs Mac and Khan Vs Jono.

If I was them, I wouldn't be saying fornicate America or because It was on TV I'd have to say I don't care so they don't beep me out.
Not that many good American boxers currently except Floyd. The rest are Ricans and Mexicans.
HW's should be now screaming to crack Germany or Russia.

Not sure whether anyone will agree, but a few I'd pay money to watch:
Lynes -vs- Olusegun The battle between a good all rounder and a good box-puncher should be interesting.
Scott Harrison -vs- Steve Foster Jnr I agree that Arthur would be a good opponent as well, but its not likely to happen, is it. Foster, meanwhile, proved durable and at times exciting against Alex and would be a superb come back test for Scott - either way, the winner would have good options ahead of them.
David Dolan -vs- Ian Millarvie You could equally put Derek Chisora, Sam Sexton or Martin Rogan in this mix. My thought would basically be an early step up in class for the next generation of British heavies.
Danny Williams -vs- David Haye Think I'm mad? Tell me that this would go more than six and end any other way than one of them knocked unconcious? Michael Sprott would also be a good learning fight for Haye.
Gary Lockett -vs- Paul Smith -vs- Darren Barker Three good middles, two very much on the up, one waiting for his big shot. I think the match ups would be pretty entertaining of a Friday night.[/b]

Derry Matthews vs Nicky Cook would be a good start for 2008.
A sensible fight for both fighters.
By the way, How impressive does Matthews win over Foster Jnr look now following the latters exploits against Alex Arthur.

Wasnt so long ago that team woods were trying to call the shots on this one, turning down a career best pay day because they had bigger fish to fry. How times have changed, desperate to make the fight now, arent they!

Out of your 2008 selections Oliver I would suggest that Arthur-Harrison, Haye-Maccarinelli, Calzaghe-Woods, Khan-Thaxton COULD happen. In contrast I'd be very surprised if any of the rest were made. We live in hope.

Really?? And Calzaghe did much more to secure his shot at Steve Collins' WBO belt??
I can understand that Calzaghe has bigger fish to fry (i.e. he's after massive paydays against house-hold name American fighters) but that doesnt mean that Froch's obvious legitimacy to challenge Calzaghe should be ignored or discarded.
Froch would be as good and as live an opponent for Calzaghe as Jermaine Taylor or Winky Wright.
Personally I would like to see Calzaghe fight Hopkins, but I think there is certainly a case for Froch to fight Calzaghe - especially if Calzaghe has recently fought the likes of Peter Manfredo and is continually linked with fighting middleweight fighters.

Domestic fights I feel are a must to sort out whos the top dog in each division are:
Derry Matthews v John Simpson again
Wayne Elcock v Gary Lockett (no chance)
Khan v Thaxton
One I'd like to see is Nicky Cook at super feather v Alex Arthur and another is Stephen Foster against the winner of Mitchell v Johanesson. I think Foster would take either with ease.
