khan is ducking thaxton - i wonder why???

maybe because thaxton can punch and khan has no chin
khan fighting this dane is a disgrace , he has only 5 kos ffs...eliminator for the world title
warren is trying to protect khan just like he did with calzaghe for the first 5-6 years
basically warren is protecting his big money star....calzaghe has 1 more year after that warren has nuthing.
thaxton would ko khan within 6 rounds , he only needs 1 shot as khan has no cihn

I think you're going to eat your words if Jonathan Thaxton and Amir Khan fight.

Whatever anyone thinks about Fwank Warren, he knows what he's got in a prospect, put it this way, if he had to buy long term shares in Amir Khan i bet he would invest next to nothing compared to a Calzaghe or a Hamed ect, ect.

Why the hating? So Khan should sack the world title eliminator and fight Thaxton? Yeah right course he is, if you were Amir you'd fight a no win situation or a world title eliminator? He gets more reward fighting the eliminator. Its the Hatton/Witter thing allover again
Its business mate, its like people where saying Michael Hunter should fight Bernard Dunne instead of his eliminator. It just doesnt make sense, frankly if you cant see this your just a "hater", or a wanker. One of the two...

Completly agree with my fellow monkey hanger here.
Why the f*** would you want to give up a world title eliminator
for a no win domestic fight situation!!!!

Khan was decked by a light-hitter in one fight (look closely and you'll see that his foot gets tangled in the rope just before the shot lands). You can't say from that that he's got an awful chin; Felix Trinidad was floored by some very average welterweights, but no-one goes on about him having a glass chin. There are defnitely question marks about Khan, but to say at this stage that he's got a useless chin is stupid.

It is not an eliminator, yet.

Of course there is the arguement that you are not really the best in Britain until you beat the British champion - Khan is however claiming the top spot having beaten Graham Earl who used to claim he was the best - Then there is the prestige of winning the Lonsdale belt, most British fighters consider that only second to a genuine world title - Khan needs to slow down a bit or find himself fighting Katsidis and being out of his depth and out for the count - Thaxton is being avoided because he can punch - The choice is another non puncher, so yet again the chin isnt tested but Khan lives to fight another day by racking up another win - Khan could beat Thaxton, a year ago I wouldnt have said that - The problem is if Khan cant overwhelm him and land flush as he did with Earl, Thaxton could find Khans chin and spark him instead - Its a big risk whereas the guy he is fighting shouldnt be a problem with only 5 KOs from 19 on his record - To me its a safe fight that wont prove a thing and is a step back rather than a step up - I dont think Khan is ready for a title shot but fighting Thaxton could tell us one way or the other - This isnt the way FW works though.

To say it is an eliminator means nothing
It has to be a final eliminator to mean anything

It doesn't really matter if it's an eliminator or not , this is the WBO and Warren could have Khan installed as mandatory without fighting an eliminator at any time he wants . If this was for one of the other belts then maybe it would be a different story but then again , I don't think any other org would have the Dane at #2 .

come on gentlemen, why put khan in with thaxton? the poor boy must be absolutely fagged out after his grueling win over earl. be fair, he needs a bit of a rest before taking on even more decent opponents.

Kahn is waiting untill Jono is 40
or untill he can find Thaxton walking across the street where he will
KO him with his flash sports car.

I think a lot of people seem to be unfairly putting the blame on Khan here for not fighting Thaxton, Warren is doing exactly what he did with Hatton and Calzaghe, padding there record with no real challenge, and then when the cows been milked enough he starts testing the waters with an actual challenge, its the pattern warren follows.

So what is a monkey hanger?
Is it the Brit equivalent of what is called a nut hugger in the USA?
They’re the only ones that swallow that “business of boxing” Bu*l Sh*t.
Get wise to yourselves before U guys help kill the “sport of boxing”.
yers truly,
Mr. Wanker; the "bussiness hater".

Khan would of blasted Stewart In 5 rounds or less.
Thaxton probably only moved down to Light because like Hatton probably blamed the weight.

to be fair chaps I don't think boxing for the British title is a "no win" situation. It would be a great springboard to go on from to bigger things. On Thaxton's showing against Stewart the Thaxton fans/ Khan haters should have FAR more to worry about than Khan's performance against Limond.
If Jon did actually get into it it could be a decent little tussle but I think Khan's far too cute to get tagged by any of Jon's "fcking legendary"according to this forum "big shots". It would be Khan stopping a typically gutsy Thaxton mid to late, or a very handsome points win.
And do you know what would happen?............course you do, the critics would scurry away for a few days then come back saying "Khan can't beat Diaz, Khan can't beat Katsidis, Khan can't beat Murray, Khan's a load of sh*t........" just in the same way they all did that said he would get KO'd by Earl. It's bloody pathetic. Get behind the lad FFS, I am trying to think why (apart from the odd driving indiscretion) so many people are against this kid and so far JEALOUSY is the only thing I can think of. Young, rich etc............well get over it.
I will admit though, I haven't even looked who this Dane is but it sounds like it may be on paper at least a less challenging fight that boxing Thaxton.
On another note though can you (sorry I think it was one of the Hartlepool lads) clear up who Hunter's eliminator was? ...I thought he just went British, European, 1,2,3....then straight in for the IBF title.......I don't actually think he boxed an eliminator for it did he unless I've misunderstood your point.
And for the guy who asked why folks from Hartlepool are called Monkeyhangers it's cos they took a monkey for a Frenchman. Well we all make mistakes, anyone could have done the same
Luckily things have come on in leaps and bounds since then in Hartlepool. They've got an Asda a Blockbuster video and everything

That was what I and others thought but Khan was too quick for Earl who didnt cover up and got caught - As I said with Earl, if Thaxton can survive 4/5 rounds, he could land a KO punch - Anyway its not Jon, its a light punching fighter who Khan should beat and more than likely KO - I dont think this fight will answer too many questions, in particular can Khan take a punch

Im sure its Warren arranging the Fights, not Khan...Just like Most Boxers..
Khan will probably fight thaxton next.
It was pretty obvious he was going to have a few fights before Thaxton, rather than picking a Tomato Can he picked this dude
