Pick who you would like him to fight.

Mine:

1) Marcos Rene Maidana (Manchester)
2) Demetrius Hopkins (USA)
3) Junior Witter (Manchester)
4) Paul Malignaggi (The Garden)
5) Juan Diaz (USA)

I know I've picked a fairly tough list but if anybody can beat all those five and rebuild their legacy worldwide, it's the Hitman.

I went for Maidana on the sheer facts that he's beatable, likes travelling and has a fairly okay reputation. I then chose Hopkins as he's again beatable and it's imperative that Hatton doesn't get beat in his next two fights after being beat by Floyd Mayweather if he wants to sustain his legacy with English fans - the thing with Hopkins is that he's undefeated and the American's are putting him under some pressure to fight someone with a pulse, and Hatton could be ideal.

Also, I have Witter 3rd as this fight needs to happen, if not straight away then early next year when both boxers are in decent shape still - again I see Hatton winning as I think Witter is overrated after beating two shop-worn fighters in DeMarcus Corley and Vivian Harris. Then I would love Hatton vs Malignaggi at the Garden for 2009 - probably Hatton's toughest test but I have belief that he could come out victorious, and shut that cocky twat up, like Miguel Cotto did.

Then the money-maker if Diaz is still unbeaten - 50/50 at light welterweight fight when Hatton is 32 but again, I'm confident in my man to win all those five and extend his legacy, and possibly become England's best ever fighter, at any weight.

you are deluded, hatton is one fight away from a career ending defeat, if hatton loses his next fight then i think he will call it a day, but he is in a difficult position, he cant fight shite cos of the level he is at, and anything more than shite will now fancy their chances of beating this new static non head moving vulnerable hit man !!

I don't think Hopkins and Maidana are "shit."

Granted, they're not the best light welterweights on the planet but that's why he should take the fights. I can't see him losing to either of those two if I'm honest and the first real risk I had Hatton taking was Witter in fight no#3 when he's hopefully back on the winning trail with confidence high. If he took on Witter or Malignaggi now then it's his best shot at getting beat again, and like you said, that would kill his career. I want Hatton to build up to the bigger fights by starting with Hopkins and Maidana, two competent boxers who are beatable, but have fairly decent records - both unbeaten I think in a combined 45 fights.

No need for the "deluded" remark as well as I was only trying to insinuate a debate.

I reckon Hatton will go for:

Rees - make friends with Warren, pay Kotelnik step aside, entertaining all British fight and get the WBA

Juan Diaz - smaller big name fighter who is fantastic BUT has more fat than muscle by the look of him so will be outmuscled by Ricky most likely.

Torres - Dumps WBA gets the WBO belt holder on the cheap

Pacquaio - billed as a superfight, 2 massive names. Dont count this 1 out, its been mentioned and Pacquiaos moving to 135

I'd like Hatton to go:

Rees
Witter - biggest fight at 140

If hes still undefeated at 140, then:

Diaz
Malignaggi
Paqcuiao

If he beats those last 4 he has my respect

2008

Torres (WBO - Manchester) - Hatton KO7
Malignaggi (IBF - MSG) - Hatton W12 (UD)

2009

Witter (WBC - Manchester)- Hatton W12 (SD)
Diaz (Vegas - if he's already successfully tested the water at 140)- Hatton W12 (UD)
Pac (Wembley - if he's successfully moved through 135 to 140 in next 2 years)- Hatton KO8

Now I like the idea of getting Torres to Manchester that would give him parity for a Rees or Witter clash with 2 titles on the line...... and if Rees cud get past Kotelnik (hahahahahahahahahaha) then I would vote for those to be his 2 fights next year.

In 2009 I'd like to then see him fight Malignaggi, Witter, and a final fight of his own choice.

However in my mind he needs to spend his last 5 fights at nothing other than 140 pounds, and all fights should be for big-4 titles with unification thrown in too!
