As far as i managed to pick up Hide won in round 6, had the boy down a few times and his corner throw towel in.

Only saw the last couple of rounds but a solid performance by Hide, looked a little tired so I reckon he tried to blast the guy out early as the opponent was looking fairly marked up.
Caught him with some heavy blows and dropped him and the ref stopped it.

His jab was very good when he used it. He needs to learn how to fight inside a bit, or atleast push the guy off when he gets close

If Vitali Klitschko could breeze punch Hide, then Mac will Ko Herbie.

Although I must again say that the quality, or lack thereof, attached to the Seconds Out broadcast makes it hard to really tell, I thought Hide was decent enough yesterday - smooth when he used the jab, strong when he went for power shots. Having said that, the guy he fought had one of the more blown up records I've seen.

Well it would depend if Warren could get options on Herbie I suppose. I think it would draw a bit of attention. Remember Herbie is fairly well known, being part of the old ITV Golden Generation... I think it will get similar, but a bit more, interest as Froch vs Reid had.

Stu, sorry mate, but I honestly think you're wrong on this one. Even if Warren could get options on Herbie the huge difference is that Enzo can make Warren proper money - fanbase, TV exposure etc - whereas Hide is a non-entity in those terms.
The big difference with Froch and Reid is that the Reid fight represented minimal risk for Froch - Froch has a great chin and Reid was clearly well, well past his peak. There's no way that Hide represents such an easy option for Enzo given their respective strengths and weaknesses.

I don't think Enzo can make Warren "proper money" to be honest.
Only reason he has fought infront of such large crowds before is down to being Joe Calzaghe's regular warm up boy

SN can use the ex-heavyweight champion of the world angle to promote a fight between Hide and Macca.

I would'nt mind seeing them go at it, and it would be pretty exciting whilst it lasted.
You would have to favour Enzo of course, but Hide is very unpredictable and carries genune power.

As hs previously been mentioned, Hide is unlikely to be seen in the UK for a long time due to various financial issues. Its good to see Hide back on the scene and that he's been kept active but his win last night essentially proved very little.

I think Enzo could prove to be a good draw in Wales in his own right, but he needs to be facing more Wayne Braithwaite's than Bobby Gunn's. It took Joe Calzaghe years to cement himself as a major star. In the meantime, I'd love to see Enzo tackle O'Neill Bell.

Enzo will make Frank far more money than Hide - it's not even a debatable issue...

True, im a big Hide fan but feel this, i watched half the fight last night and herbie has no footwork or stamina...

Hide is a has-been with no chin. I want to see Macca in decent fights that will improve his world standing.

thats the thing about hide v maccarinelli or haye or haye v maccarinelli. i think of the 2 that haye and hide are the biggest punchers, but the 3 dont have any whiskers between them, so any permutation of the trio in any battle could go either way, and they are all british, these are the fights that we want to see...

Boxing fans are fickle.
Once Enzo loses, and that will happen again sometime, his stock will fall with the Welsh fans looking for another "poster boy".
Calzaghe took a long time to pull in the big numbers, and only then that was off the back of victories against other top fighters and champions, the like that Enzo has yet to face(Braithwaite was done, no more than a gatekeeper in todays cruiserweight division)
Joe is also a great fighter, something Enzo is not.

Of course Enzo would make Fwank more money than Hide as we stand today, no one said any different.

It's a fight I would'nt mind seeing, but then again there are tougher tasks out their for Enzo which I would prefer to see to be honest.

I think Warren is making better matchups at last - Its taken years for boxing to excite people again and good fights have to be made now while the iron is still hot - The Mitchell fight will, or should, get us off to a good start in 2008 - Macca/Haye would be fantastic but Macca/Hide would be pretty good also - FW has got to do something big with Enzo before that particular pot goes completely off the boil.
