Mythical Match-up: Joe Frazier -vs- Bernard Hopkins (P4P)...

Just a strange one that occurred to me. You don't often hear about pound-for-pound match-ups between two great fighters unless both are non-Heavies.

If they were the same size, how would this one pan out?

This could be a whole new market for fantasy fights - Duran vs Ali, Arguello vs Tyson...I'm onto something here

This is really hard to judge, I assume we should base it purely on a styles match up...

Even then I find it hard to tip against Frazier...

If both were in the same weight class, no matter how we see it, if Hopkins was a 6'3" with 220 pounds, he probably lose to Frazier.

If Frazier was a middleweight, he wins by KO...Too relentless.

Oh to live in a time when EVERYBODY's a GREAT :-?

are you serious :o

Hopkins spent his whole life fighting well below his real weight , now you really want to compare him with Big Boys whom he refused to go nowhere near... P4P or not he isn't the boy we've (some of us) have been duped into believing (accepting).

Hey Ringsider --- Tell us all again why the jabs of Liston & Holmes were, "nothing special." Then tell us all you never said such a crazy thing.

Or was that another Ringsider? :TU:

This thread is hilarious, Joe Frazier might've been a MW when he was like 13 or something... Frazier kills Hopkins... I'm sorry, I just can't imagine Frazier fighting at Hopkins' weight unless he's in Middle School.

No, I know what you're trying to do, like if Hopkins had all of his best Prime attributes as a HW or vice versa for Frazier who would win. So it's more of a style thing, but to try to imagine Hopkins as a Hewvyweight or Frazier as a MW takes a lot of imagination and so it makes the idea of this thread a bit ridiculous. Frazier wins either way though. Hopkins doesn't seem to like constant pressure and power much and has nothing to really keep Smokin' Joe off of him.
