Lets say that these two men's fates crossed paths and for whatever reason each man met inside the ring.

Ruddock is still that feared Canadian challenger to the title.

Holyfield that over achieving punching machine that still with
his belt wrapped around his waist, questionable in his defences
but un-denying in his heart and tenacity.

The fight is set for mid-late 1992. Holyfield-Bowe breaks down and Ruddock and Lewis are not to meet.

Ruddock, with his two battles with Tyson and his destruction over Dokes seems a real danger and many feel he is the next champion. His 'smash' is dangerously effective as is his jab. With Floyd Patterson in his corner who has insisted Ruddock use more range and work of the jab, many expect good things from the Canadian.

Holyfield just of his win over Holmes looked less than stellar, the grand daddy gave the prime Holyfied a tough fight. In Holyfields other defences against Foreman and Cooper he raised many questions, as to how much longer his reign could last. His conditioning, left hook and belief of self are big factors that make him the champion that he is.

Donovan 'Razor' Ruddock - 6' 3, 219lb
Evander Holyfield - 6'2, 208lb.

Holyfield KO 7 or 8

Holyfield makes the better start, wobbling Ruddock in the early rounds, but Ruddock sucks it up and rallies through the middle rounds. But the two gruelling Tyson fights have taken it out of Razor and he succumbs to an extended barrage and is stopped on his feet,

Ruddock was finished after both Tyson Fights.

I would say Ruddock will only win early on. But likely tahat Holyfield will take it. probably later on by KO

Holyfield UD 12. Holyfield didnt have the punch to knock out the iron jawed Ruddock and this would be no easy fight either. If slow ponderous Alex Stewart can hurt Holyfield than a far more powerful puncher in Ruddock could do so as well.

No contest.

Razor has no stamina, no defence & is one dimensional.

Holyfield had a titanium chin, some of the best fitness levels ever seen in boxing & he is in his pomp, circa 1992.

Holyfield by KO in about 8.

Holyfield wins on points, could be a gruelling fight depending on what Razor had left. Holyfield wouldnt do to Razor what Lewis did

Holyfield TKO 9.

No fighter without a left jab will have much success vs Holyfield. Ruddock maybe wins 2 rounds at most by landing a few good shots and stunning Evander but that's it.

I think at the time, Ruddock would have gone in heavily favoured and its hard to look now at Ruddock this way.

I think early on however it would be a close and exciting fight. BUT Holyfield with his double jab, left hook and work rate would smash past Ruddocks offence and find a some what defenceless fighter.

I think Holyfield wins this one by decision. Close at times, but ultimately its the Real Deals fight.

Yes, strange to think now he was a solid favourite vs Lewis.

It was the Tyson effect.

Tyson was supposed the the greatest HW in the world ever & because Ruddock took him 19 rounds (could have been more, but for Richard Steele), he must have surely been the best HW in the world, that was not in gaol in 1992.

Never mind the fact that both fights were one punch at a time slugfests, with little technique to savour.

I'd say Holyfield winning in 10 or 12 rounds by decision. Holyfield lacked the heavyweight KO power when he stepped up in class. And overall, Ruddock had a pretty good chin early to midway thru his career. And he did get up in about 4 seconds after being hit by that "Titanic Left Hook" by Tommy Morrison late in his career.

But who knows... if Razor lands that left Smash early... it could have been "Lights Out!"

Holyfield wasn't a one punch KO artist but he certainly had the power to stop Razor.

I think Holyfield would have stopped Ruddock.

Good fight for the first 5 - 6 rounds....Because Holyfield loves to bang...and would have traded with Razor (which makes for excitment).... A prime Holyfield had one hell of a chin and great recoup powers.....Holyfield could have boxed circles around Razor, but would choose to bang.....First 5-6 rounds would be close and then Holyfields hand speed and combination punching would take over...

I see Holyfield stopping Razor somewhere around 8-10 rounds......TKO.

Holyfield could have boxed or slugged his way to a victory. His chin would have been tested and he would probably pass the test. I imagine both guys standing at the end with perhaps a KD scored by either man along the way...but more likely Razor visiting the canvas in the later rounds by the accumulation of EVander's work.
