Says it all realy, while Haye was beatin Mormeck he was taking 4 rounds against this guy then warren tried to charectorise haye as scaired.

YPH is tall and lean with a slightly unusual guard/style. He could develop into a dangerous fighter in the interesting cruiserweight division.

Maybe the Macca defeat stole Azzoui's ambition (it happens sometimes after a big title defeat) or maybe he was never much cop to start with?..

I hate to say it but I think he took a bit of a dive there that punch looked crisp but hardly a KO shot.

Yep I said it at the time, all that rolling around on the canvas then jumping up after the 10 count, like he REALLY wanted to continue, looks pretty sad and just about sums up the WBO and it's "top contenders".

True, but it was obvious Macca was taking his time that night. Azzaoui was an unknown quantity so Enzo was just sizing him up. Likely Hernandez saw how timidly Azzaoui eventually went down vs Macca and knew he could make a fast start.

It was a very poor match to take on Enzo's part, and even more importantly than that, it is in my opinion poor preperation for his fight with Haye.

Enzo's had some disgraceful match-ups and for that reason alone I'm hoping that Haye does a number on him. It'll be a victory for those who believe in fighting the best out there, rather than those who are happy to defend against the likes of Bobby Gunn.

The guy gets far too much flak on here, obviously because of SN....but he's beaten Braithwaite in 2007 and now he's fighting Haye, give him a break....

You have got to be kidding me?! For a supposed world title holder to be defending against the likes of Gunn and Azzauoui is a disgrace under any form of measurement.
We're supposed to cut him slack simply because he's beaten one decent fighter in Braithwaite??!!
My problem with Enzo is nothing to do with Sports Network at all, it's to do with the fact he's willing to face the above named non-entities in so-called 'world title' bouts while being unprepared to face willing and able challengers such as Darnell Wilson. Haye, by contrast, has clearly got a take-on-all-comers mentality that deserves respect.
I'm absolutely convinced this match wouldn't be happening unless Warren believed that Haye will be f*cked from weight-making.

Yep, gotta admit Warren usually knows exactly the right time for his fighters to strike (Hatton v Tszyu, Earl v Khan). Obviously something makes him confident for this one - Maccarinelli could, after all, tread the early Calzaghe path for a good few years yet, rather than risk it all here.

Braitewaite was the classic WBO imported challenger. Iced in 4 by Guillermo Jones, retires for a few yrs then suddenly pops up in an easy 6 rounder and head first into a WBO 'title' fight.

Look for Ezzra Sellers, Orlin Norris and the boys to resurface in 'comeback' fights. Is Anaclet Wamba available?

Bobby Czyz should be nice & fresh after his lengthy hiatus, plus his age begins with a 4 so he ticks all the SN boxes!

The only way to stop this is to stop buying tickets and stop referring to Macca as a World-Champion.

He isn't. He has a belt, leased by the most transparently manipulated body of the lot.

Boone Pultz really IS still fighting. He's got a winning record of 2-1 in his comeback launched after a decade out, and is only 47.

Azzoui is one of the shadiest operators I have ever seen in a ring. His last 2 fights have ended with him lying on the canvas yelping in pain, then as soon as the ref counts him out he's up like frickin Zebedee complaining and accusing his opponent of foul play.
I don't think he dived for cash in either of his last two fights. I think he just took the counts because he's a coward and a cheat and I hope to never see him a boxing ring ever again.

There are loads of reasons why a fighter may lay down Most of them pyscological.

A long journey between a fight may be one reason, too much time to think, particularly as an amatuer, on a one hour journey and getting lost self dount can pour in, and that can lead you to flushing your gumsheild down the loo after the weigh in.

There are bundles of good fighters who have rolled over. Anyone who beleives oherwise does not know boxing at any level.

I think they level of opponents could be Maccranelli's undoing, I also think we sometimes over estimate the achivement of beating Braithwait who as was pointed out had come off a long lay off with a 6 round fight vs a crap opponent. The more I think about it the more weardly out of charector the haye fight seems and the more I imagen David will be victim of every mind game in the book.

Oh speeking of Cruzer's comming back anyone know anything about Jeremy Williams lately.

I boxed from 13 to 19, have watched the sport religiously since I was 9 and have sparred with former title holders like Donnie Hood and Craig Docherty and I can tell you, talented fighters might roll over but good one's do not.
I really see no point in your response. What you have said doesn't answer the question why in 2 consecutive fights Azzoui went down from good but hardly fight ending shots, writhed in agony while the referee counted over him and then jumped up clear as a button after the bout was waved over and called foul on both occasions. What that has to do with self doubt or flushing your gum shield down the toilet I have no idea.
Azzoui is clearly of questionable moral fibre and has not shown anything to suggest he is good either. Of course you may be basing that on his record which would bring me back to your rather pretentious statement

Like I said I don't believe the fix has been in. I just believe Azzoui is a coward and a cheat, 2 characteristics which have the possibility of affecting a fighter as much as lack of confidence.
