Ok, this will probably make me sound really clueless - but whats happened to Pay per view? I havn't had sky myself for about 10 years, and didn't follow boxing for a few years in the intrim.

What happened to pay per view fights? Do we still have them here?

I meant - Are the still fights shown in England on a pay-per-view basis?

Was HattonVMayweather pay per view? I watched it in the casino, so kinda hard to tell.

Yes, but they rarely are now. Expect Calzaghe v Hopkins to be PPV.

Doubt it, Warren / Calzaghe signed to setanta which is essentially pay per view at £10 per month, surely they cant ask for extra? Unless Warren gives all rights to golden boy who sells the tv rights to the highest bidder, cant see that though.

Don't think the contract is for Calzaghe mate, but for Sports Network instead. I'd be very, very suprised if it isn't on PPV. I know SKY are thinking fo trying to get it on PPV.

The purse bids, if rumours are true, as just too high to not have PPV in both countries.

When I said purse bids, I meant the Promoter saying "Mr Calzaghe, we will pay you $17,000,000 to fight Bernard Hopkins, in Vegas, on this date". I couldn't think of the correct word. Still can't

2008 promises to be an exciting year for boxing and Setanta will be at the very heart of it with undefeated Welsh star Joe Calzaghe's next fight also due to be screened exclusively live on the channel.

If Sky (or any other station) pay Setanta a nice amount they'll get the fight same thing with Enzo vs Haye. It is business after all, and if Setanta can do well to sell it elsewhere they would be foolish not to.
