Ok so i got a bit bored at work, and looking at Joe Calzaghe's record if you add up all the points he could have won in his title fights that have gone the distance is 1320, which breaks down to 11 distance fights 10 points per round possible.
now i added his best round scores by a judge of his fight and out of a possible 1320 he scored 1304!!!!!
That means out of 132 rounds he lost 16!!
Against the likes of Eubank, Reid, Brewer, Lacy, Bika and Kessler.
of course he also had a few 'gimmes' in there as well , but its still an amazing feat.

Yep, he's only ever had one SD in his ENTIRE CAREER, too.

Which was arguably a loss. I watched it at the weekend and think Reid won by 1

yes was a very close one, could of gone either way. But i don't think it would of affected Calzaghe to much losing his '0' . I still feel he would have gone on to achieve just as much. If if had lost that one if may have taken the plunge into taking on America earlier.

time to open a window. get some air.
I'm having trouble following this...what does "best round scored by a judge mean.........." u mean out the 3 judges you go with the one who awarded him the fight by the highest margin?
it would probably be easier all round if I didn't pick it to pieces.
1) yes, Joe's good
2) so is your little project, you may be the first person ever to work this out.

I think the Bika, Brewer and Kessler score cards didn't reflect the fight - I scored all 3 closer than the actually cards.
Mearly my take though.

Bika and Kessler, I think do reflect the fights. I haven't seen the Brewer one.

Also come to think of it Calzaghe was deducted points in at least 2 of those fights, Lacy and Salem.
So that makes only 14 rounds actually lost , kind of
Its another slow day , its only people like me that keep this country working like a well oiled machine.
