I have always found him to be entirely graceless and lacking in tactical acumen. When the BBC bungs programme came out he said he was serving them with a writ. He didn't and has now left it to late to be able to.

I think everyone invovled in the club and the fans need to accept that they're not a big club anymore and not a decent side.

They go through managers like a hot knife in butter.

Most chairmen are too quick to fire the bullet these days and Newcastle fans have got to realise they have no god given right to be one of the top clubs in the Premiership. Yes they have good numbers of support but they have to realise they are just one of many 'average' teams in the premiership who have won fk all for many moons.

Put it this way, Newcastle have now had 5 Managers (Allardyce, Roeder, Souness, Dalglish and Gullit) and none of them have made the team into a top 4. That says something about the players and the club, not the Manager.

Too many of them get the blame for poor performance by the players.

However, Sam has bought some sht!

Harsh IMO - they are still only 11th... mid table. A few points away from relegation, but a few points away from the UEFA cup.

They did look pretty clueless against Stoke, but I would have thought he should have had the January transfer window to build.

They shouldnt have fked around by getting rid of Bobby after some stability by finishing something like 3rd 4th and 5th. I'm actually glad for the club that its bit them in the arse

Officially it was by mutual consent but its quite clear he was pushed. As a Newcastle fan im not very happy about this, we havent been playing very well or getting the results but the seasons a write off now. We arent gonna get relegated and we wont get into Europe so i'd have rather let him see the season out and give him a chance to turn it around.

Im sure Mort and Ashley will have one or two names lined up to replace him but at the minute i've got no idea who we'll get in, unless Mourinho fancies a challenge?!

a lot of Newcastle fans wouldn't look at uefa cup entry as success, not after playing in the champs league a few years back.

I love following Newcastle - I'm no fan but EVERY season they think they're going to do something and the wheels always come off. It's fcking hilarious........if they didn't big themselves up so much the comedown perhaps wouldn't be so bad........it could be partly to do with being the biggest club in the north east, but overall, as someone said, they are one of the many average clubs.

they could do with about 4 more Alan Smith's, i think he's been injured for a bit of this season.

As for Shearer for boss I very much doubt he'd be dumb enough to believe they'd still be worshipping him after say, the 12th defeat of the season........he'd just be classed as another dudd.

Mourinho would be interesting as the geordies are an optimistic bunch and they do like to idol-worship big style so they'd love him, and I could see that being quite appealing to Mourinho's personality.........only obstacle is that there will always be 10 jobs on the table at the same time to cherry pick from.

In summary, I'd have given Sam at least 2 -3 yrs. Fcking Mcclaren got nearly that long FFS.

Does he even have his full UEFA licence/badges yet? I thought he was still taking them.

thing is , Mourinho would get that club back up to somewhere LIKE where Kevin Keegan had them , inside of about 4 years, IMO.

perhaps not second, as Arsenal and Chelsea have improved considerably since then.

but Mourinho would have no need to do a building job like that any more, once your rep is made you just whore yourself around all the big clubs and live on your reputation for a few years.

newcastle have never got on with long ball merchants like allerdyce. remember what an exciting side they were when that columbian was up front and ginola was let loose. toon fans deserve that kind of football. they wont win anything but at least it'll be great to watch. unlike now under sam.

id like to see shearer in post, but give a big name 2 years worth of contract to show alan the managerial ropes and work along side him etc...

Other suggestions are okay - but not sure how available they will be. Robson isn't a well person, Venables and O Leary seemed to be fighting for the Ireland post, Keegan has pretty much said he is done with Football.... but has said it before.

Robson is pushing 80 and is getting over cancer so forget that. Besides they already turned on him for his 'unacceptable' 3rd, 4th and 5th finishes.
O'Leary was a cheque book manager who along with Ridsdale almost ruined Leeds Utd. and since showed up his inadequacies at the top level at Aston Villa.
Think Venables is done with club management and Keegan never recovered from his first stint at Newcastle as boss when he threw it away.
Glenn Hoddle has achieved little in football management and looks burned out. His teams play good football but win nothing. Though that seems to be what the Newcastle faithful want.
Think back to how long Ferguson was in charge of Man U before things turned around. Allardyce had a very ordinary and by comparison meagerly funded Bolton team previously which he took to the Premiership, made them stable and had them fighting in the latter stages for a cup and UEFA place every season and eventually guided them to Europe. Given time who knows what he could have achieved at Newcastle.
But they are all deluded. Shearer won't do zip if he gets the job because no inexperienced new start ever does. Its more likely to ruin what ever possible managerial talent he may have developed.
As for Mourinho, that a laugh. Jose wants to manage teams who are going to be competing for the Champs League every season and not one who's wet dream is to win the Carling Cup.

Personally I prefer Burley on Setanta. He usually says exactly what your saying to your mates at home ie "thats f*cking outrageous". Gray always sides with the big 4 and says annoying shit like "take a bow son!" Plus he's a Rangers fan.
