19th Jan - Steve Molitor vs Ricardo Castillo.
19th Jan - Skelton vs Chagaev
19th Jan - Roy Jones vs Tito Trinidad
19th Jan - Mike Mollo vs Andrew Golota.
25th Jan - Colin Lynes vs Branco
26th Jan - Povetkin vs Eddie Chambers.
26th Jan - Hector Camacho Snr (yes, he is back) vs Stephan "son of Aron" Pryor..... okay, not one for the radar - but I thought Camacho was in jail.
1st Feb - Haymer vs Oakey II
2nd Feb Z Gorres vs Vic Darchinyan (should be a cracker).
8th Feb - Darnell Wilson vs undefeated BJ Flores (funny name).
9th Feb Paul Williams vs Carlos Quintana (looking forward to this one).
16th Feb - Tszypko vs Steiglitz
16th Feb - Valuev vs Sergei Lyakhovich (tough comeback for the big fella).
16th Feb - Taylor vs Pavlik II (entire 4 fight bill is interesting).
23rd Feb - Klitchsko vs Ibragimov.
29th Feb - Lucian Bute vs William Joppy - Horrible fight.
29th Feb - Anderson vs McIntyre II
29th Feb - Guerrero vs Litzau (looking forward to that one).

I'm looking forward to Skelton vs Chaegev, I think Matt is going to get outboxed and stopped in around 9 rounds but he will make it very entertaining while it lasts!
Mike Mollo vs Andrew Golota is very interesting fight indeed, Golota, even at his advanced dotage is a class above most heavyweights and I think he will have too much array of punches to lose to Mollo, but you never know with Big Andrezj what will happen when he gets tagged.
I only care about British fighters (non SN) and heavyweights nowadays. I don't care about 90% of world boxing! :(

The boxing scene is pretty stagnant here, compared to the 1980s which was the golden era of Korean boxing.
Mind you, female boxing is on the rise in Korea. They have a fair few female boxers here.
There is a Canadian middleweight boxing out here who has been asking if any English teachers here fancy turning pro!

Shame, Chi was a hell of a fighter, but in truth think he was already a bit shopworn anyway.

So was I, I remember writing about it during one of my colums at maxboxing. What a fight that would have been. Chi was such a hard man, the body shots he took from Brodie in their first fight would I am sure have stopped most other fighters that night.
Chi v Barrera would have been interesting, but think Barrera would have been too cute for him. Pacquaio, for all his improvement under Roach, has always been hittable.

Yes. Fedor Emelianenko submitted him with an armbar on new years eve the size difference was unreal.

To be honest Ollie, not being fluent in Korean I don't get whats going on in the news or other media sources. The Korean election drafted over me like a slight breeze and it was one of the biggest elections in the country's history. So I got more info from English language souces than I did here about Yo-Sam Chois death.
K-1 is massive, it is free to air on TV and shown live on 'X' sports I saw the fight where Hong Man Choi was arm barred by Fedor, Choi wasn't doing too bad because his first sport is Korean wrestling but once Fedor tied him up on the floor there was only going to be one winner.
I tell the kids at school that my Korean name is Chong Pal Park - The Korean IBF and WBA super middleweight champion of the 1980s, the kids say that it is a bumpkins name and that they have never heard of him (nor had the teachers) but on Christmas day MBC-ESPN showed the Chong Pal Park vs Murray Sutherland fight for the IBF super middleweight title.
Park was a good fighter too, strong, aggresive and a good body puncher which saw off Sutherland in 11 rounds.

Surely there is a decent English-language newspaper you can pick up to keep abreast of Korean news and sport? I found the Japan Times and Bangkok Post in particular very useful for news and sport when I was in those countries. Since you mention elections, I was in Japan for their last one and read the papers to see what was happening.

There is an English language newspaper (the Korea Times/Herald) but its crap! Also I'm in deep south! The back of beyond! Easy to get in Seoul, not so easy here!
And why would I care about the criminal the South Koreans voted in (no 2 if anyone is interested) when I don't get a vote?
Besides, the internet is as good as source as any for keeping abreast with the news at home!

Going back to K1; I really enjoyed watching the Grand Prix when I was in Japan. That's when I first became aware of Hong-Man Choi; he was fighting Bob Sapp (big in Japan) in the quarter or semi-final and it was front page news and on terrestrial TV. It was a pretty poor fight but I couldn't believe how SMALL Sapp looked! But that fight aside, I enjoyed most of the rest of it. It would probably be my number 2 sport if it was broadcast here.
