I am sorry. I just noticed that this was a thread for heavyweight brothers only. I was just thinking of the Curry brothers too (Don, Bruce, Graylin).

Like you said Scypion, wrong thread but Larry Holmes brother was middleweight Mark Holmes.

Jaclem...Yes, Bobby (Robert) Quarry was indeed a heavyweight brother, the youngest to Jerry and Mike. Not a very good boxer but always a dangerous counterpuncher. Something Dave Kilgour, am.oth. experienced. Kilgour had Quarry almost down and out against the ropes but got caught by a tremedous right that hit "right on the money". (I think it ended Kilgour's pretty promising career).
His record between 1982-92 was mediocre 9-12-2, but he had that "irish spirit", as his brothers.
Other brothers to "investigate"; Campolo, Cavalier, Gibbons, Jeffries, Kahut, Moha, Shugrue, Stribling, Walcott, Woodcock....
Jaclem...By the way, no siameese brothers to my knowledge, but there's one one-armed welterweight of the 70's I can't recall the name right now.

Actually there were three Muscato brother's in Boxing. The third is Sammy.
Sam started his boxing career as a Middleweight and ended it in the Lt-Hvywt division.

Robert was the last of the Quarry brothers and the last born to Jack and Arwanda. He was considered to be an all round athlete. In high school he went out for basketball. In football he played both offence and defense and was the clean up batter in baseball.

He turned professional boxer in 1982 at the age of 20. One year later he sustained an injury to his right eye that caused him to be blind in that eye playing sand lot football. He would memorize the eye chart when ever being tested for his professional boxing licenses in the various states that he fought.

In the beginning of his career, because he was a Quarry, he thought that it would be easy to earn big money and be able to win easily. So he really did not dedicate himself. Robert show a lot of natural ability as an athlete, especially as a fighter. He learned his skills sparring with his older brothers, Mike and Jerry, and was considered to be a heavy puncher.

Robert fought off and on for about 10 years. His biggest fight was against the then title contender Tommy Morrison, in the early 90's. Who later had a win over George Foreman. The fight was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on a Sunday Night on ESPN. At that time this fight received the biggest TV rating that ESPN had. We feel it was a combination of Morrison fighting a Quarry. Robert was stopped in the 3rd round. His brother James worked his corner that night.

During an interview early in his career a newspaper reporter asked Robert what kind of profession he would have gotten into had he not become a fighter. Jokingly, Robert replied that he would have become a "Rocket Scientist" The nickname stuck. The announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr., then started announcing Robert as "Robert "The Rocket Scientist" Quarry.

Robert is now back in school. Wanting to better his education. One of his dreams is to become a sports journalist. He lives in Shafter, California where his brother Jerry is buried.

Ali had a brother, who fought as a small heavyweight,
during the late sixties or early seventies. I can not
remember his name, but I remember reading about
him in ring magazine.
I did however see Bobby Quarry fight a couple of times,
he was a blown up ligtheavie who fought as a heavyweight.

My wife and I were eating lunch a little over twenty years ago and I saw Rudy/Rahman and a lovely lady just two tables away from us. No conversation, not even eye contact, and I wouldn't even bring it up but for the chance it might irritate terap.

Non heavy weight brothers Prudencio and Ricardo Cardona both alphabet champs in the early 80's..

Both not heavyweight, but both world champion: Ralf and Graciano "Rocky" Rocchigiani

the british heavyweight of the sixties brian london has a brother who fought at heavyweight also. cant think of his name now, but in fact i think their dad was heavyweight jack london. (or was he a writer, hang on, i`m getting myself confused here.....)
