Boxrec meet up? Friday February 1st

If anyone fancies a few ales before the Maloney card at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Friday, February 1st, I'll be in the nearby Dundee Arms from 6.

I'm white, overweight and with a crew cut, will be wearing jeans, trainers and polo top and will be quaffing a pint of lager.

So that narrows it down to 90% of the Dundee Arms pre-boxing clientele. :TU:

Get yourself there if you can make it. Unless you're a shithouse. In that case, stay at home. 8)

I see this has somewhat backfired.

And I sincerely hope 'backfired' isn't slang for something homo-erotic!

Jokes aside, I was thinking of going to this show, but the only hotels withing a reasonable distance sound truely awful.

I went down to see Martin Power beat Argie Ward. Got a hotel from a website which was close to the venue and looked sound.

Hilarious when I got there...the picture was of the first floor - below was a kebab house and my room window backed directly (literally 12ft away) on to a tube track!

The Holiday Inn Express on Old Street is pretty close and pretty decent in a no frills kind of way. Only a short cab ride away.

Only just looked at the bill, there are some really good match-ups, hope they come off.

Salem v Fry and Cook v Harding on the undercard are interesting ones

A bit pricey, though, thats the drawback. The bast are the Travelodge specials, which are a bit random, and have to be booked WELL in advance.

Sounds like the " City View Hotel "

The number of bad reviews of this, and similar for the close by "City Inn Express" put me off. I don't mind limited facilities, but things like dirty rooms, broken windows, credit card fraud etc were enough to put me off.

Nick, isn't that slang for a double anal?

:TU:

Have any of these meetings ever come off? Wasn't there one where you had a fight in a taxi or summat?

F-off, I'm clearly Rizzo.

WTF is a twinky?
Its an american 'delicacy'.

Think sponge roll for a british equivalent I suppose.

It's also the only food that's virtually indestructible:

The Yanks love 'em. They're actually not bad, bit like a a chavvy Swiss roll (if that's possible).
