I hope so. Hatton needs an easy win before taking on Witter to get his confidence up.

I'm OK with Hatton taking this fight as long as he follows it up with Junior

I hope so too, but I have a nasty feeling he won't fight Junior until 2009 and fight Paulie next.
I hope I'm wrong.

No way Hatton will fight two British fighters in the UK, or fight Junior in America.
Rees would be an obvious step, a Super-Featherweight who has nothing Hatton doesn't have and by fighting a Sports Network fighter, he can fight at the MEN and "repay" all his loyal fans who couldn't get tickets for Vegas.
Then he'll be off to New York or Las Vegas again to fight the bloke with the lesbian haircut.
Witter could be squeezed in late this year, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
I'd say Rees-Maglinaggi-Diaz or Pacman is far more likely.
Witter is just a puzzle Hatton doesn't need to make the top money.
I hate it, but Witter will be his last fight, I suspect. And even then I'm not sure.

Would Warren be happy feeding Rees to a non SN fighter?
Just for the chance of one more Hatton MEN filling night?

He'll make a killing though. And let's be honest, no chance Rees will beat Kotelnik so Rees isn't keeping that belt anyway.

Yes, h will make Millions on the door and pay Rees £250k and Hatton will get £2M. Then TV right s etc etc, he woas not promoting Rees Vs Kotelnik so wouldnot have made F all.
PLUS HATTON MIGHT BE WILLING TO BEND OVER FOR WARREN ONE MORE TIME.

Oooo typical Hatton going for the easiest challenge.
Rees has only just entered the world scene and should beat the limited Kotelnik though but he should stay away from Hatton.
Hatton has slipped though so It will only be a little one sided. Just that he's stronger than Rees so thats why he'll win.

Yeah and was badly outclassed, exposed as a bully who can't fight fighters his own size as well and went In with no game plan.
He doesn't mind fighting someone who disrespects him when they are a US name but when It's Witter, he chickens out.

Hes just fought the best fighter in the World, so how can you say he keeps taking the easiest challenges?? whether he was outclassed or exposed is irrelevent.
I agree regarding Witter, Hattons refusual to fight him has totally put me off him

i'd be surprised if it's rees.
i reckon it'll be one of the 3 mentioned in the first press release.
torres, holt or hopkins.

Took him long enough to finally fight Floyd though, he was stalling with easy pickings and people were looking past It.

they always said they'd build that fight up.
they got it bang on from the numbers they got. :)
just a shame about the result.

some definite truth in that. Calzaghe is fighting Hopkins what, after 11 yrs as supe rmiddleweight titlst-cum-champion, when Hopkins is 42.

Hatton still did It when he left FW though so there was no point In him leaving other than being a money grabber.
Which Joe Calzaghe did also. But he did not fight a P4P guy, just two relatively untested ones.
They wern't untested enough before Joe thrashed them though the majority said Joe needed them and strangely picked the other guys without looking at the skill and judging off paper.
No one said Kessler or Lacy was untested before Joe outclassed both of them.
The P4p things rubbish, he fought the best In his weight class and cleaned out which Hatton didn't do, one win Is not enough to clean out
FW started to focus more on Joe though once he lost his main money maker and Joe was ducked by a few good names knowing they couldn't win so they get greedy and ask for more money.

Hops could of fought him after the Tito win but wanted more money.
Hopkins struggles to win unless things are on his own terms anyway but that won't save him from being stopped this time.

Well, this looks like another 'belt mopping' fight, much like he did with Urango.
Nothing to get too excited about, payday for Hatton, opportunity for Rees, and a chance of Warren to bring Hatton into the fold. No doubt he will be using his right hand man Jay Larkin to try and negotiate a deal for a fight with either Pacman, Diaz or Malignaggi.
A fight with Pacman could be huge, and let's face it, the odds would be stacked in Hatton's favour as he is by far the bigger man. Could see Pacman landing a big shot though and starching Hatton, even at 140.

Make your mind up Max, you say it's the easiest challenge and then state it'll only be a little one sided. Surely if that's the case it's not a bad fight coming off a beating from the p4p number 1 - especially being for a belt.
In truth Rees has zero chance against Hatton, Hatton is a hell of a lot stronger than Rees and hits much much harder. I didn't see better movement, workrate or punch variation from Rees in the M'Baye fight than what Hatton can offer. Rees may be trained by the god that is Enzo Calzaghe but he is well out of his depth here. There is a reason why they would cash in on him and it's not because he would beat the likes of Kotelink easily

I have made up my mind and many here are limited on analyzing skill and Instead use paper and speak words like he'll lick him, who has this guy fought logic and who hits harder logic.
I did say Rees would lose to Hatton but only because Hatton has the size over him, If Hatton just sleepwalks him like he sleepwalked against Floyd, then he will win like he did against Urango.
Rees will beat Kotelnik, he couldn't even take advantage of M'Baye's laziness and Is limited In technique. Kotelnik's only good at the basics like many Brit level fighters.

could be. but warren is a long term plan guy. he seems to value titles above everything else. reckon he doesn't risk losing a title this way. not unless Rees were to lose to an SN fighter, like Khan.
