Noticed Bami is fighting on the undercard of Lynes vs Toppopola (Lynes first defence of the European title). But why did Bami give up the title he never lost in the ring?

I thought it was an injury forced him to miss manditories.

He was set to defend it against Young Mutley in Wolverhampton last summer but pulled out injured and was convinced to let Lynes and Mutley box for the vacant title.

Bami was given a promise that he would be given a crack at the winner. I believe that is still the plan.

personal problems also played a part in bami giving himself a bit of time away from it

Thanks for clearing that up guys. I hope Bami does get a shot at Lynes - his career seemed to be going nowhere for a while until he won the european.

Well you never know if he gets it then it could be ricky hattons come back fight, or is it just me that sees that one happening?

I read somewhere that Bami didn't want to fight Mutley after originally being expected to fight Branco (aren't they all) who had pulled out meaning Bami had Lauri to fight a second time. I made it sound a whole lot more complicated just there.

Anyway Bami gave up the Euro to focus on getting a world title shot which just sounded totally implausable at the time and still does now rather than risk against Mutley.

Bami has been sparring Anthony Small in the build up to Smalls fight with Takaloo.
Small said it was intense sparring, as Ted comes in fired up.
