Witter - Hopkins

Just so we can get away from all the 'Hatton is a pussy' talk, how about we focus on the Witter fight that is actually happening? Witter finally has a chance to erase the Judah fight, with his bout against Demetrius Hopkins supposedly landing on HBO. How do we see it going? It's a great chance for Witter to make HBO sit up and force Hatton to make the Witter fight, because their money counts for a lot more than the opinions of blokes on the internet.
Witter, if he can turn in a Harris-like performance here, can force HBO to call Hatton's bluff. However, if he turns in a performance like he did against Kotelnik (or, for that matter, given the scoring of Hopkins - Forbes, a Witter - Lynes type performance), there's an excellent chance the judges will cost him his belt.
So, opinions please: How does Witter - Hopkins go? Witter should win with something to spare. But what if Hopkins borrows a leaf out of his Uncle's book, and makes it ugly, close, and contentious on the scorecards?

Have HBO bought the fight yet? I thought the fight was on the proviso that HBO/Showtime bought it.........
Witter by KO mid-rounds - Witter doesn't want to let this fight goto the cards because he'll get robbed over there

I've seen D-Hop fight before, but I dough remember much about him. Looking at his record hes not fought at the same level as Junior and hes not a particularly BIG puncher.
If his chins solid enough we could be in for a decision on the scorecards, which is worrying as its in the US and I'm not too sure the US judges will favour Juniors style, stamina could play a BIG part in this one. If D-Hop hasn't got a solid chin then he gets KTFO.
Surely one of the US broadcasters will pick this one up, considering one of their natives is challenging for the WBC title.
Its another BIG important fight for Junior

I worry about this fight. I mean Junior is a counter-puncher by nature and when he is forced to go after the opponent he tends not to look very good - see vs Lynes and Morua. Hopkins IMO is going to run around the ring forcing Junior to chase him. I hope Junior get him out of there because if some some rounds are open to interpretation they'll go to Hopkins.

Hopkins did get that controversial decision win over Steve Forbes not so long ago so hopefully Junior puts in a performance that makes sure he comes away with another victory.I'd hate for him to go there and end up getting robbed. If that happens, the chances of him getting the Hatton fight would completely go out the window.

11 pages on a Hatton thread. 8 replies for a thread dedicated to Witter's next fight.
Hatton should, without a doubt fight Witter this year. But maybe it wouldn't hurt if Witter's 'fans' actually supported him, rather than spent their time slagging Hatton.

I see it another way, maybe GBP want Witter to come over & do a job on Hopkins then maybe they can try & force a Witter - Hatton fight, which if GBP promoted they know would be a big event in England, Witter is already connected to GBP & Hatton isn't tied to anyone is he, just a thought.
