He's in the Boxrec schedule as fighting on the 24th of May, this year. No opponent named yet.

Not many options for Hatton, in fact very few - Hattons next move is going to be very interesting and crucial to his career - His weight problem is getting worse, so maybe doctors advice will determine what happens next.

Hatton's fight will be announced as soon as they find a Superfeatherweight with a bit of a name willing to step up to 140.

i hope hatton and graham get to work ASAP..get that hunger and concentration back on.

You're right, Waylon, I think he should seek medical advice before he fights again. And seek advice above and beyond the routine medical checks. The doctor should be made fully aware of his lifestyle and the past decade of bingeing and dieting. I can't see how, looking at his current state and after recently fighting at 147, he can safely make 140 again. We know he's done it before, but the next time could be one time too many.

On the other hand, he's barely a top 10 fighter at 147, so should avoid the welters. I understand he wants to come back from his defeat, but his lifestyle and appearance since then suggest otherwise. If I were him, for the sake of health and family, I'd hang them up. And, if I were a doctor, I'd advise the same thing.

Mentlly the defeat has most likely ruined him, crying all the time etc etc, maybe he should have a fight against Colin lynes then retire.

Morales and Barrera are both talking about keeping fighting. Hatton takes on the ATG Morales or ATG BArrera. Even cynics like us would take an interest evwen if it is a 1sided beating

Malignaggi, Rees & Torres are also likely candidates if the money's right. Hatton would have to pay Ndou or Kotelnik step aside money though.

I for one hope the loss to Floyd has not ruined Ricky from a mental perspective. If the mind's not right, then nothing else will be. Ricky admitting that he been emotional about the loss shows how much winning meant to him. Let's face it, Ricky worked hard to get to point of taking on the best P4P boxer in the world.

Whoever he fights & whatever happens from here on, the pinnacle of Ricky's career was against Floyd. I could be wrong, but it might be a case that Ricky sacrificed a great deal, gave his very, very best in training camp, had a long camp, but it wasn't good enough. That could be the worse thing for Ricky mentally.

I wonder whether it has left him all bit drained & that's why, judging by the amount of weight he appears to have put on, he's probably just thought fcuk it, & let himself really go? Not a good idea if you ask me.

One wonders whether, despite what Ricky himself might say, can come back with the same hunger, desire, motivation, etc, that he had when in training for Floyd?

The sooner an opponent is announced, the sooner Ricky will be back training, getting the weight down, getting fitter, etc. The longer Ricky is out of the ring, the more he'll likely put on weight.

Lastly, what do we think Ricky weighs now? Yesterday it was seven weeks since the Mayweather fight, so not even two months since the fight. Ricky seems to be so out of condition & the bout was not that long ago really. I wish it was a different scenario, that Ricky kept in decent shape, but if his family cannot talk him round, I don't see the cycle changing. Does anyone?

Ricky fought three times during 2007. Since Urango last January, it seems Ricky has been in a vicious cycle where-by he trains for so long, then gets so out of shape for so long, trains for so long, etc, etc.

I've often wondered what it must be like for Ricky the first few weeks/month when he starts back training? Surely, Ricky must physically feel uncomfortable with all the excess weight, feel sluggish, lethargic, etc? If he does, then surely he must say to himself not to put on so much weight next, stay in reasonable condition, etc?

Barrera is booked for a PPV show on 3/05 to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. However this was before DLH announced he's fighting an Ommpah-Loomp.

Can't see HBO having a bout for DLH and a PPV for Barrera on the same night, unless they make ODH fight on HBO BAD after Barrera on HBO PPV.

The DLH fight is on normal HBO not PPV.

Don't think he'll be fighting that soon. He'll more likely come back later in the year I think in an easy one.

I think the loss has damaged him and he's lost a lot of bottle, would like to see the witter fight one day though.

Hatton said he'll be back late May or early June.

A lot of fighters put a lot of weight on between fights, i just think Ricky holds excess weight very badly - unlike say Joe Calzaghe who puts on 2 stone and looks pretty much exactly the same. Its perhaps just Hatton's physical build....
when i started training again i was fifteen stone and i didnt look fat just stocky and musculer, i managed to get my weight right down to 11st 12lbs, nobody who loooked at me when i was 15odd stone ever thought i would crack 13stone let alone 12, its dfferent for different people.....just a thought really.

yeah but exxcess weight being put on is expected form the likes of Heavy Weights..

Condering Hatton fights at WelterWeight, i think he has put a little TOO much on for his size..

Ricky Hatton has made a lot of money. He has been well paid throughout his career.

Despite his reported lifestyle of having a few drinks with his mates, and enjoying a curry, I think he might be down to earth and doubt he has wasted his money. I reckon he knows the value of a £.

As a result I doubt he will ever fight again. Pure guesswork, but thats what I reckon.

If he fought Morales, it wouldnt be a one sided beating. Molrales is one of the best boxers on the planet, and I belive he won his last fight at lightweight but got robbed by the house fighter judges.

Hatton would thump the living daylights out of Morales, he's way too small to fight Hatton. He was completely overpowered by Pacman, let alone Hatton.

Nonsense.

Ricky was at my gym this morning, doing an interview, not sure what television network it was for or if it was a documentary, he actually looked quite well, nothing like the sky interview he had the other day, where he did look well overweight. He seemed like a cool guy. Was there for a couple hours, interviews and pictures with the tv people, then pictures with some of the lads that were there, signing gloves and chatting for a bit. I had a couple of pictures with him, though didn't really speak to him, because it seemed like he was being asked questions from all angles. i'd say he doesn't look much over 12 stone, maybe 12 and a half.
