Picture the scene, a young prospect, possibly destined for great things come on the scene, he gets a vaunted in the press and has some good performances..

This prospect fights out of a small camp, he has been there all his life and gets on well with the camp..

Sadly this small camp cant get him any really good sparring whilst his rivals on the scene, who fights out of the bigger stables get quality sparring every day..

At what point should the young prospect put his selfish hat on and leave?? Or does he owe the stable a debt of loyalty??

No man, cos talking about prospects in name would get me fooking killed..my point is more general........

Remember Frank Maloney was a small time promoter when he promoted lewis and he took him a rather long way. It depends on the quality of the individual promoting and how many risks they are willing to take.

I think the answer is in your question realy when they aren't getting the right sparing and there carrer is suffering because of there loyalte.

If the prospect is good enough, it's inconsequential of the size of the stable (Lewis example above is a good one), however it's usually better that they move on.

Provided they don't act a prck about it, I see now reason why they have loyalty to the smaller stable. If I had promise as a boxer, and wasn't good at anything else, I would need to be selfish as it's my career. Even more important if I have a family to provide for.
