I think this will be an explosive match up ..i know Danny is declining big time, but both fighters suit eachother, Danny throws bigger bombs imo.

i would say Danny Williams, even past his Prime, Would Beat Golota pretty Easily, let alone Mollo

dont forget it was only recently that trimmed down to beat the young Scot Gammer's 0

and Dannys career best performance (the first Skelton fight) wasnt so long ago.

he is good indeed, but i still think he has it in him..

Golota is just way passed his Prime, i just don;t see the 40 year old taking on the 34 year old "Brixton Bomber"

Golota did look all of his forty years in there, even though it was an tough and good contest. Golota in his prime would have demolished Mollo.

As for Williams, I would say the Williams that beat Gammer would beat Golota, the Williams that fought Platov would get KO'd by Golota.

Edit: Although in hindsight - yeah, Golota is probably too much for any version of Williams, even now. Danny's chin aint too great and he isn't hard to hit.

The things with Golota and Williams is that the fight could go any one of a dozen ways depending which of each of them turns up. The very best Golota probably beats the very best Williams - but then, how often have either of those beasts gotten into a ring?

Danny looked good in his last fight dispite being over weight hopfuly that will give him some impatus to trim down

Danny should aim for the Euro title.

He's capable of winning that, as open as the Heavyweights are too late for another shot.

Euro title yes, however I think he got beat so bad in his world title shot that people wouldn't want the fight cos if they didn't look as good as Klit then there standing amongst world champs would be lessened.

However I think he realy is worth a European title and it'd be good for him to have that as well as the Longsdale belt to show for his carrer.

He has more punch power than Skelton and stronger than Skelton too and could of traded just as well as Matt did against Ruslan.

Ibragimov Is terrible and was scared of Holy coming forward even though Holy was barely doing a thing.

Vitali as badly overrated as he was Is better than these lot, but Danny was not motivated that night even though he wouldn't of won anyway.

I appriciate that Williams is better than that performance against Klitschko however I don't think that most heavyweight boxing fans know maybe as much, so why would Ruslan fight him, he'd look bad and be worth less as a marketable comodity if he struggled against the guy beaten so well by Vitali

I don't suppose we're going to get a rematch with Platov. I don't know if he (Platov) was sick or just wasn't prepared, but Danny had him in serious trouble in that fight. Gives you a bit of hope. It seems that if you're a British heavy and nothing's expected of you, you go and get a result or put on a good performace. The moment something's expected of you, you lose the plot.

Anyway, guess we won't see him defending the Lonsdale until McDermott/Reid is through. Trip to Turkey to fight SSS? Can't believe they're persevering with him after recent performances. Or maybe he might get a shot with Golota. I'm sure DK will work everyone of his dirty little digits in getting Golota into a title fight, or at least use him agaimnst someone else.

If Danny Williams cannot get motivated for Klitchsko or Harrison, then how is he going to get motivated for Golota etc.

Two Ton Williams gets way too much of a mention on here in comparison to his commitment level.

And where has all this come from about Danny not being motivated for Vitali?? He was battered from pillar to post, he seemed bloody motivated to me to continue for as long as he did.

Every time people start thinking Danny can challenge for anything outside of a British title they should sit down and watch the Harrison 1 & 2, Skelton 2, Sam and Klitschko fights.

anyone seen danny's first few fights? he looked so talented, so mobile and powerful. And trim. It's funny how a lot of heavyweights look so good very early in their career and then just decline.

Yes, that is all true - but when see a less talented Skelton give a decent account for himself away from home against argueably the best of the world champions - you can maybe see why some of us are still hoping.

I know he is likely to be out of the picture soon, but current WBO champion Ibragimov is a lot worse than Chagaev... Skelton would definately have a chance vs him and a fit Williams should beat Skelton everytime.

The annoying thing is - that the Gammer fight showed its just down to Williams' attitude, nothing physical about his inability to shift the weight - but what was bad was that Williams did not see that as a good display.

And Williams comes into his next fight like a whale again. Everyone needs to stop pinning any sort of hope on such a lazy weak minded man!

Waiting for what? The Euro level scene Is overrated enough for him or Skelton to win a euro.

He'd beat guys like Virchis who Is mostly a guy who wins mostly because he has a punch. Sprott beat him and a fat Vidoz was winning the first fight until he got sparked.

Max we get these little glimpses on great talent from Danny all the time, you should have been around a few years back when we were told how Danny was looking fantastic in the gym kicking the yanks arses in sparring, then he took out a limited Robinson but looked class in doing so. He was destined for greatness no doubt about it.

Then the Danny from the Sam etc fights turns up. Oh but that's right, he had shingles that night

I think greatness is pushing it a bit.

It's pushing it more than a bit...

If only Danny from sparring had turned up in the Klitschko fight, it could have all been so different...
