Looks like Audley doesn't want to piss about. Rumour has it his mid-year comeback opponent will be the currently-in-limbo Tony Thompson (!!!)

Thompson is the WBO mandatory but that aint enforced for 18 months at a time & it looks like no one is eager to accomodate him.

Thompson is 36, a southpaw who turned pro late (like Audley), but check out some of his scalps: Zuri Lawrence (KO7), James Gaines (KO8), Yanqui Diaz (W8), Vaughn Bean (W10), Dominic Guinn (W12), Timor Ibragimov (W10), ex-European champ Luan Krasniqi (KO5) and our friend Cliff Couser (KO2).

I've wondered for a while now if Thompson is the sleeper in the clutch of crappy, flabby, half-hearted Yank heavies. Audley would have to put on something pretty frickin spectacular to pull this one off, dontcha think.......?

I can't see this one coming off. No way I can see Harrison beating Thompson.

i'd be suprised if this comes off. But maybe Audley see's this as a quick way to a title shot.

Fair play to him if this comes off. He'll lose though.

yeah who or bust. But at his age if can't afford building back up again. So may as well go for it. I've always said that Thompson has the tools to beat the champs , he's been left on the sidelines because he's going to be hard to beat and the titleholders wouldn't earn much by fighting him.

Losing to Thompson would be preferable to beating Paul King and then waiting another 4-5 months for the next stage.

Do remember that before Sprott landed the whopper on Parcel Farce (which in fairness would have stopped a fair few in their tracks) Audley gave Williams a Night at the Opera to remember. Admittedly, there's no way of knowing what his head is like after being pluggered by Sprott but then, who knows? Maybe his first KO was like his first loss (well, not like his first loss obviously, it only made him lose to Guinn!) but it might have given him a bit of a reality check annd grit.

Anyway, in short this will be great. If he loses, it's quickening the process. If he wins, his next fight could literally be for a world title belt.

I hope its true it'll be a real way of proving he wants to be HW and is doing it the seriouse way.

Beating a 270lbs Williams is one thing, beating a top tier Heavyweight is quite another. I can't see any way he could beat Thompson other than an injury.

Is Harrison still 'boxing'?

I thought he'd seen the light & run off into the sunset with all that sponsorship & BBC money he blagged a few years back!

Ahh well, at least we can all laugh at him, when he has the look of a startled pheasant, everytime an opponent swings a punch in his general direction. :P

He hurt himself in a car accident in September.

Let's be honest the year out and being injured is not going to do him any favours.

At least we might get to see him KO'd again that would be nice.

I'll always have respect for Harrison, I'd like to see him become a world champion one day and he is tall hits hard works the body well and is akwed enough that I believe he has a chance still myself.

I don't think you'll find many world champions being knocked out cold by Sprott. Harrison has no chance of winning a title, he hasn't even won a British title!

As for audley, he might as well just go out on his shield and try and spark thompson early doors, he's not outworking him and he's not lasting at any kind of pace...

If nothing else, its good to see he apparantly has some proper career plans still formed, rather than considering retirement.

This would be fantastic if it came off. I think im one of the few left still rooting for Audley and i do think theres a possibility he could salvage his career with a couple of big wins, but Tony Thompson is not the man i'd have gone after.

He'd have an easier time with any of the champions, bar Wlad. I guess its a fast track to a title shot if he wins it but TT is talented, ugly to watch and very underated. If he wanted a big fight i'd have thought Rahman or Brock would be better options, but good luck to him!

I think this is a realy good fight for the reson you think it is a bad one, if Harrison is to come back and is to convince the millions of people who doubt him then he needs to come back and fight the kind of fighter who people are convinced he will lose to. If he can KO a couple of those people then.

(1) he'll be in the mix of potential title channes
(2) will have gain the support of many people who think that he's been matched too cairfuly and has no heart.

I'll watch just to see his Chin chin get checked again.

He doesn't have the mentality for the pros.
