I was on the same flight as Haye going out to North Cyprus. After a 6 hour flight, after collecting his baggage still gave autographs and posed for photo's with a bunch of holidayers, never let his smile drop and showed not a single hint of annoyance or irritation (i was slightly irritated myself about how these people were behaving).
Real class. How many celeb's would act that way? I wanted badly to go have a chat, but couldn't make myself impose.

To me, the real genuine nicest guys in British boxing are David Haye and Enzo Macarenelli. Great fellas

Haye came to a Walkabout in Soton when Westwood was playing during his Hobson rivalry days and he was apparently a bit of a dck then.

However, my general unfounded impression of him is that he seems a nice lad. Even befriends you on Facebook if you've had a photo with him, which is a nice touch.

I still don't forgive Macca for how he reacted after Haye beat Mormeck. Too jealous for my liking.

As J says, David is always around the London boxing scene and is always very pleasant. I saw him on the tube a few months ago, I was with my wife, and he came over and asked whether we'd met before (we had, several times, so he must have recognised my face). He was very charming (in the confines of a five minute tube ride) and as I got off the tube, several other people in the carriage had started to talk to him, and he was good company.

Haye is a nice guy and genuine too.....just as others suggest.

He is also very honest which I admire, when he is hurt he will say he was hurt. This is very unusual in the boxing world when bravado sometimes interferes with reality!!!

To be fair most pros are.

Yep - I respect DH for this. It's also one great reason of many why I admired Floyd Patterson. No trash, all action. Two brave men on occasion as well, given their less than granite chins.

Haye could lose a series of HW fights and still be loved by British fans.

Yeah never met the guy but just when you think his interviews are bordering on arrogance, he says something like 'if he hits me then I'll get knocked out, this is what makes it so exciting' and you think - he's not up himself, just a genuine guy who says it like it is. Not his fault he's world champ, nd if he thinks he's gonna win he shouldn't say otherwise.
Think his style and attitude are perfect, confidence and class.

Remember seeing David Haye at Ash Sharma's gym 'Soul Power' in Crayford, Kent where he does some light training and I found him a real down to earth guy, mixing in with keep fitters, boxers, kids and just about anyone who walked in the gym, he's a proper people's man, dont try and put himself on a higher level.
He's done well and has showed character coming back from the Thompson defeat

i always wondered why he sported a Turkish-Cypriot flag on his shorts.

David is a gentleman, a real nice Londoner, and one heck of a fighter.

I've met him a few times, and found him engaging, friendly and having a good sense of humour. He seems genuine and honest.

One thing I do know is that he is commercially astute and knows what he is worth.

Maybe that is why some promoters moan about him. Some promoters might like to deal with boxers who accept being TOLD what they will get.

Lets hope David goes onto clean up the robots and eastern european hod carriers and bring some credit to the over 200lb division. I am sure he will prevail and earn many millions doing it, and deservedly so.

How many top sportsmen ride the Tube? I woulda thought Haye was all about the limos. Nice touch.
