Jennings 7/4 on points. I think thats big. Anyone care to dissuade me?

I don't understand betting, but Jennings has to be the clear favourite. Minter's been away too long after defeat, and he hasn't fought at Michael's level.

I took Jennings on points at 6/4 with Ladbrokes which i thought was very good, although 1/8 for him just to win the fight is a ridiculous price.

does anybody have an update on this one...thx

Round 4 so far, Jennings hurt Minter in thye first minute. Been slightly towards Jennings since. Minter has a hairline cut.

5th round Jennings jabbing beautifully. minter has a horrid ear cut. however, he has been hitting back bravely

6th round jennings still making minter eat his jab, but his footwork has slowed markedly.

7th round more of the same, but again the pace is slowing and i'm starting to wonder about Jennings road work

8th round Jennings just nailed him with 10 secs to go. he made the bell, but surely thats done for him

Looked like an early night for Jennings..
Though big credit to Minter for sticking in there ... during the middle rnds I really thought he could possibly turn it around.

Minter amazed me how he regained his feet - and so quickly - after such a heavy knock down ... tremendous heart, a real warrior

I`d never seen Jennings get hit so much.

Minter's dream fell short. From Area champion to world champion just wasn't to be in the end Good scrap though all the same, even if the bauble on offer wasn't worth the sweat expended by both pugilists.

at least this was a fight on a really dissapointing undercard night was to long with many breaks, anyway i thought minter held his own for 4 rounds then seemed to try and change things it never worked and he just seemed to tire jennings did a descent job but imo does not seem to be improving he got hit much more than he would have a couple of years ago

You are right. He did get hit a lot more often than he used too but I still think he showed he can achieve something more than the WBU title.

Minter showed some real old school grit. One of the best fights I've seen in ages on British soil.

I've been a fan of Ross', I actually saw this as a 60:40 fight (in Jennings favour)... Brave effort from Ross, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ross is doing a lot of weights in his training regime.... he's too muscled bound.

This was a good fight, on a bad night. I thought Minter was doing well, at times he was really going for it, but Jennings certainly had the edge of the seasoned pro, and kept catching him with some really accurate shots. I get the impression that Minter is a touch "chinny," in that he is quite easily knocked down.

Even allowing for the knockdown, I had it pretty square until Jennings picked it up and won after round 8.

Also, from where I was sitting it looked like they threw the towel in just before the ref stopped it, other might say that the ref was stopping it before the towel came over. Obviously they know best, and didn't feel he could weather the end of the round.

Good fight - wondered if Minter was going to turn it round at one stage. Bit like Macklin-Moore with the classier fighter prevaling but really both coming out with much credit.
