Foster gets up dusts himself off and pulverises Depaula dropping him 3 times for the stoppage.
Name a few that come to mind.

Have you or anyone here actually seen that fight? I have it on tape, and I only see the three times Foster knocked De Paula down, I don't see De Paula knocking Foster down. I always wondered if boxrec was making a mistake in its description of the fight, but perhaps I just don't have the full round.

Bad example.

Foster was down from a push.

The New York referee ran in and called it a "knockdown."

Foster said to the stooge ref, "You're not going to get away with this."

He then knocked DePaula down three times and ended the fight.

The ref didn't do de Paula any favors by trying that garbage.

If the ref hadn't done that, Foster would have fought a slower fight to start and De Paula might have had a better chance to get his bearings.

Waters a limited tough hard punchng Australian is thrown in over his head with norris, and norris tears him apart but in the second or third waters hits norris and he goes down gets up and is out on his feet but waters cannot land another shot and the fight is stopped between rounds due to the face of waters comng apart from norris punces. was pretty excitin there for a while

Tzyu had Zab down, but couldn't keep him there according to plan. And even though Zab was dancing up a storm to prove to the ref he was fine, the corrupt ref called the fight. Zab warned the ref that he wasn't going to get away with it but in this case the corrupt ref got away with it.

EVERYONE saw Zab get up...EVERYONE knew he was breakdancing to make the point that he was just fine. EVERYONE on the east coast knew what was happening.

I never new that, and am grateful that you bought it to my attention as Bob Foster is one of my favorite fighters and IMO the greatest light heavy weight Champ ever. Yes better than Archie

I cringe when I read about Hill breaking Bob s record and now holds the record for most defences, if Bob had fought in the same pateticly weak opposition as Hll he would have made 40 defenses and he would have Knocked OUT Tommy Hearns (also one of my favorite fighters)

Maybe not a big underdog,but Charley White knocked down the great Benny Leonard with his big left hook only to have Benny get up to knock out White in the 9th round.

Ritchie Mitchell also knocked Leonard down in a title fight.

So did Rocky Kansas.

Charlie White knocked Leonard down and through the ropes.

The ref was Leonard's ref and the stoppage of the fight some rounds later in Leonard's favor was disputed.

Charley White's left hook traveled about an inch, 2 inches at most..

He came close to beating three champions---Abe Atell, Freddie Welsh, and Leonard.

To break up time inbetween the proposed Louis rematch, he fought Max Baer and was knocked out of title contention for the rest of his career.

Toney started his career with over thirty fights as a middleweight.

Perhaps ifeelfine can show us where Galento ever fought as a middleweight. Maybe when he had some playground fights when he was just out of grade school?

While he is grasping like this perhaps ifeelfine could include the near knockdown of Ali by overweight lightheavyweight Doug Jones 15 seconds into their bout where Ali outweighed Jones by 25 pounds even though Jones came in at a fat 188 pounds.
