I went there last night- I'm there right now- £1 for 5 minutes internet -rip off! Some good stuff, but some really problems too- one of the worse, most one sided undercards I've ever seen, plus racist dhickeds in the crowd. More later!

I didn't enjoy some of the atmosphere last night either. Rather than "Go on Amir!" it was more "F*ck 'im up Amir!"

I swear about 95% of those in attendance don't actually know what they're looking at. They just want to back a winner, and feel good when they're on the winning side.

I remember being at the Excel too for Hatton v Olivera. Guys at the back around me were screaming like Ricky was in some life and death struggle, when in reality it was just a routine wear-down job. I just didn't get it.

Maybe I'm just a miserable twat. :TU:

Was well pleased for Jennings though, what a reliable pro.

you can tell from the telly coverage that theyre not aiming things at boxing fans. few on here would swallow the rubbish dished up by ITV for a khan "fight"
i live a mile from the excel but would never go there.

Agree with Kilburn - Khan landed so many shots on the gloves yet received roars from a crowd that basically did not know their boxing.

same thing happened during hatton v mayweather everytime he landed a punch on floyds arms or gloves his moronic chav fans had an orgasm, then when ricky was KO'd they all realised this mayflower bloke was actually a good fighter

I didn't seem to mind the arena when I went, view was good and the area for refreshments was huge with no trouble getting served, the downside it was Harrison vs. Williams 1, sat through that shit, missed the train home and had to wait 2 hours in the cold for another. So apart from that all was good!

Right!

I posted that this morning, from the Excel, n ow I'm home.

A rather disappointing show, in many ways.

Firstly, Khans fight has been discussed elsewhere, Minter V Jennings was a cracker , but everything else sucked monkey balls.

First, the vue. Its great to sit in the corner, at the front- great that is if you like your view being blocked ALL THE TIME by people walking past, crowding to take photos etc. Couldn't see a thing, half the time.

A rather limited undercard too. Derry Matthews, Mat Marsh and Nicky Cook all were mis-matched against some very limited foriegn figthers, who had taken the bouts obviously on too short notice- one guy was down for a long time, possibly quite seriously hurt.

The Walsh Brothers were well supported- first fighted ended after 2 minutes, the guy just squatting down and not beating the ten count. Second one was a decent fight, stopped too soon probably, and his fans were making racist monkey noises to Delroy Spencer, whoes responce after the fight was to do a "wanker" gensture. The thirs was an almost instant knockout. Me thinks that someone is keen to hype these boys- lets hope for more testing fights for them.

The other three fight were standard fare, one ending with a cut.

But the venue- very poor. No stewards, so people were sitting in the wrong seats, causing agro etc in the crowd and ruining it for people. They really need to work this out- they need stewards IN THE CROWD not just at the ringside enclosure.
