In my experience as a teacher, most people have suffered some form of bullying in their lives. I won't rattle on. From BBN:

"All of us who know boxing are already well aware of this - the sport has a huge amount of potential to be a force for social good.

The latest indicator that the general public are beginning to see the light is the launch of a campaign today by the Sheffield Star newspaper called 'Boxing against Bullying'.

The initiative - which will see boxers and trainers not just offering to teach troubled youngsters the sport but also acting as 'mentors' - is backed by the NSPCC, former Sports Minister and president of the ABA Richard Caborn and popular Sheffield trainer Glyn Rhodes. It goes without saying that Britishboxing.net lends our full support.

This sounds very positive - another example of boxing as a force for social good!

Working within sport I've definitely noticed that boxing is getting a much higher profile at community level amongst sports professionals in recent months - just today a senior local government person commented that she would like to see much more work done with boxing in her area.

Then, with respect, no sport or area of life would ever achieve anything if they were discounted on this basis.

One presumes the mentors are going to be good blokes...

Particularly as started by my old local childhood rag ( well that and the Rotherham Advertiser)

Perhaps they could start by getting Amir to pick on someone his own size

I've changed it at the top mate to a more general one. There are a few related articles up there now.

Some Tory MP in the Telegraph today was calling for Boxing to be brought back into schools, can't remember her name, said she'd done a bit.
