How can It be for the Interim?
Kessler fought his mandatry last March and It's not been a year yet.
Plus there Is no manatry until Froch fights Inkin.

Excellent News regarding the Inkin fight being for the interim titles

How many times has a WBC Interim title been awarded - I can only think of it being used at Heavyweight before (Rahman I believe and Samuel Peter).
Thinking on it, I cannot remember a WBA and IBF interim title ever being awarded.

Stu, are you being sarcastic or not?

Bullshit is it. Calzaghe is the WBC Champion and is not due a mandatory until Froch/Inkin is resolved. So much for Hennessy's traditional route bollox.

I think it has something to do with the two fighters not willing to fight each other to become the mandatory challenger when they know Calzaghe will vacate the title a few weeks later and the winner will have to fight another tough fight for the vacant title. Pretty much making Froch-Inkin useless.
Why fight a title eliminator when the title will be up for grab 3-4 weeks later....
This way the winner of Froch-Inkin will become the champion once Calzaghe finally vacates his title.

WTF - Competing for an Interim World title isn't diverting from the Excellent Traditional Route IMO.
RIP ABC's!

Well I wasn't - but now can think of examples.
Certainly less frequent than the WBO interim title though.

WBU is more highly regarded than the Ring Belt.
It is a fact - I read it somewhere!

You don't even had to defend against a mandatry with the Ring Belt as well.

Arce/Wonjongkam, the biggest farce of all.
Diaconu - WBC have let DK ride roughshod over their esteemed values and have given Diaconu an interim shot rather than interrupt DK's plans for Dawson/Johnson
Mosley
Diaz (another farce that, with Casamayor)
IBF probably have had the least - strip happy in order to keep to their by-laws post-Lee
WBO are actually not too bad in this department in terms of getting the full and interim champ to meet. However, the fewer number of interim titles is probably also due to do with not enforcing mandatories
