TOMMY MORRISON ON JC CHAVEZ JR BILL (Setanta)

The Duke is back, boxing a club fighter on the US PPV version-- but will we miss it on Setanta as we did one of the fights off Tito/RJJ bill?

Would be absolutely fascinated to see Morrison box at 39. Watched him fight Lewis live on Sky back in 95 as a kid!

Anyone?

Although I'm not one for flogging dead donkeys, the hiv/aids question is the biggie with regards a continued comeback. Incredible that after all this time it still seems there is no definitive yes or no as to whether Morrison has either.

And whilst we're all intelligent enough to know that the possibility of an opponent contracting the virus from TM - if he has it - is slim, it is a possibility. I don't know whether John Castle was given any assurances as to TM's health when he fought him last year, or whether he was given good money, or whether he just wasn't bothered.

The issue also leaves Morrison having problems finding a US state that will take him, hence the Mexico route.

If all that was ironed out, and he was allowed to go on as he would, I doubt he'll get near world level, whatever that is these days. He'll likely aim for a money spinner or two against another name from yesteryear.

I believe he is in with a rank novice with less than 5 fights.

Cue decapitation..

HIV dies on contact with air. This pug is at more risk from Morrisons left hook than his blood, if indeed Morrison does even have it.

Again, not really wanting to bang on about Morrisons health, wondered if the Setanta feed will start after this fight has taken place? Its not like they refer to anything that has occured before their show starts on Setanta...

Argueably more concerning though is that even though Morrison has been licensed in some states and has attracted intrest from Arum since his return was discussed late 2006 - he's only had 1 fight, and one "MMA" fight.

Sounds like he is not interested from what I have read "one last try" etc is what he is calling it.

It wasnt MMA - Morrison modified the rules to the extent it was effectively a boxing match with 4oz gloves :o He won handily.

Look out for Morrision's pec implants when (if) setanta show his fight on saturday night.

He banged just about as many groupies as any self respecting 70s rockstar would, hence the HIV

Tommy actually looks healthier in the face than in his first comeback fight... but not so in his gut!

Same reason Moorer, Mercer, McCall, Seldon and Bowe are still sniffing around. Fighting is all he knows plus the payday i'm sure would be nice.

Tommy DID fight after all and won by 2nd round KO, at least according to CBS and, elsewhere, Dan Rafael:
