Enzo Calzaghe & Hopkins face off

He seemed very confident in Joe's ability to win this fight. The reason he got involved is because of how much smack Hopkins was talking. No other fighter Calzaghe has fought has had so much to say in a press conference, I believe. You're only saying that because you're a Hopkins fan.The quiet man 2004 wrote:Ya reckon Enzo is just a little scared this fight could be a step too far for Joe.
Ive never seen him that involved at a press conference.
I am leaning towards Hopkins in this fight as i think Joe's achievements are a little overrated.Asterix wrote:He seemed very confident in Joe's ability to win this fight. Come on Hopkins
Your making the fight seem like a foregone conclusion. Hopkins defeats to Taylor were both contentious.Max Molyneux wrote:The quiet man 2004 wrote:Ya reckon Enzo is just a little scared this fight could be a step too far for Joe.

This will be a mismatch, Calzaghe will destroy this clown.
The achievement logic doesn't judge who's better fully.
Calzaghe Is the clear more talented, Hops lost to Jermain Taylor.
Hopkins is 43 FFS Max, 43 that makes him a boxing OAP. so what if Calazage beats him now, lets see what Calazage is doing in 8 years time, I doubt Calazage will be fighting Chad Dawson at 43. If this is remotely close Calazage goes down as the lesser fighter of the 2 men.Max Molyneux wrote:The quiet man 2004 wrote:Ya reckon Enzo is just a little scared this fight could be a step too far for Joe.

He made a close fight against a teletubby version of Winky. Calzaghe would of stopped that version of Winky. The quiet man 2004 wrote:Your making the fight seem like a foregone conclusion. Everything that Calzaghe possesses, Hopkins has dealt with. Speed, fitness, power, awkardness, southpaws. Hopkins has dealt with it all.

I know he's 43, Calzaghe's taking a deserved payday. Yeah, still fighting at 43 only when things are on his own terms and fighting once a year.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Hopkins is 43 FFS Max, 43 that makes him a boxing OAP. so what if Calazage beats him now, lets see what Calazage is doing in 8 years time, I doubt Calazage will be fighting Chad Dawson at 43. Calazage may have beat BHOPs in his prime who knows they are both A Class fighters. BHOPS has the better defense, timing, compact shots and counters. Calazage is the faster, fitter and a better combinations thrower.
I think BHOPs righth and counter and defense will make this a tight contest and he may have a shot but hes probably far too old
And for those saying Enzo sounds intelligent WTF is that based on? He soundslike hes lost his rag and simply hypes his man up there is no fighting analysis at all. Hes had fantastic results but eliquent speaker he is not
Winky Wright Is only good opposition at Middle and Light Middleweight, at Light Heavy, he's no better than the regional fighters. The quiet man 2004 wrote:Max Molyneux wrote:He made a close fight against a teletubby version of Winky. Not "those", just me. I didn't say that he sounds intelligent, because the Welsh accent does not generally convey that image. It's his whole demeanour that leads me to believe he quite a wily old dog. You can hear Bernard Hopkins think when he talks, but when Enzo Calzaghe is talking there is much more going on in the background.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:And for those saying Enzo sounds intelligent WTF is that based on? I think I shall hold restraint when you overreacted saying what the fook I'm I on.Terry D wrote:That is nonsense. Wright was not effective at the weight but a regional fighter? Too many judge off opposition.
It's a sure sign, I don't dispute that, but not many here go off anything else as well and considering alot have been fans of the sport for at least over 5 or so years, I am surprised at some of the judging.states wrote:Christ, enough with the 'too many judge off opposition' line Max. It's getting tired. Yes, a fighter's skill set, ability, whatever you want to call it needs to be taken into account. But looking at who a man's beaten is a sure, undisputable sign of what a man HAS done, not what you think he may do. You denigrate achievements far too much.
