Griselda Blanco was a Miami druglord of the late 70s, early 80s

Comments to me from a guy who knew her:

“She was a good businesswoman. She was Pablo Escobar’s girl in Miami. She had ‘long arms.’
She was serious about her money.

“She was a short, fat broad. She dressed expensively, but none of her clothes looked good on her.”

Duran got involved in situations where he owed Blanco $8 million before the second Duran-Leonard "fight."

Do you know Blanco's handliing of people she said owed her money?

More than 70 such people?

are you saying the "No Mas" mystery has been solved? It was all about "balancing the books"?

It's a great story and a great hypothesis but that fight was the one in which Duran's physical prime ceased to be. From that moment on you can see a sharp decline in speed and stamina on Roberto's part.

Of course he could have still thrown the fight but wouldn't ha have just decided to lose on points so there was no smell about it?

Yep, bringing that much stench and advertizing to a "fix" at least on that grand of a scale, could still get you two in the hat.

More like 200+.

Most ended up as appetizers for the sharks.

Some were a bit luckier and found themselves below 5000 metric tons of the Brickell Avenue high rises (all built with laundered money of course).

She left for Columbia a few years ago.

Any word on her since then?

I suspect she met the same fate as her sons when they were also deported to Colombia.

So there is nothing definite?

No, she just vanished.

For all we know she could be back in the office... the nature of the Colombian drug business has changed dramatically since the days when she was known as "the Godmother". Back then it was 2 big Cartels (Medellin and Cali) which controled and operated the whole industry, today it has been fragmented into dozens of "mini-cartels", protected and aided by the leftist terrorists of FARC (and the oranguntan who calls himself President of Venezuela, of course) Nonetheless, they've lost much of their control to the Mexicans.

So with that fine resume of hers, the vast training and know-how, The Godmother could be very well dispatching from an undescript Colombian town.

There was a documentary about the 70's and 80's Miami drug wars not too long ago on cable called Cocaine Cowboys.I had never heard of Blanco until this movie, her ruthlessness ranked up there with Pablo Escobar's.

Isn't "dago" an offensive term?

It surely is, unless you're Italian, as Dagosd2000 apparently is. Like that other word referencing blacks? Okay when used by a brother.

I wanted to say that when I posted it, but the fear of becoming the target of a hit squad held me back. Thank you Granberry for stepping up and out front, and taking the bullet for me. :TU:

Broncano,

Have you ever seen a female with a neck like that?

Yes, my mother-in-law right before I told her that her daughter was pregnant and I still didn't have a job.

In retrospect, I realize it was only an illusion, though. My mind playing tricks on me. :TU:

Please don't tell such scary stories here, Broncano.
