Why doesn't Kostya announce his retirement? Surely he will never fight again now. I know he has been involved in Russian promotions, but just imagaine what he could bring to the Australian fight game if he became seriously involved from a trianing/promoting point of view. He has the finances, and probably futher backing from Russia if he wants it, to put on a series of shows, rather than 'one-offs', that might be able to stir up some mainstream (perhaps even US) interest here.

Why should he have to give back? Give back to who? He has worked his but off for like 15 years in the ring and in preparation.

If hes retired he should be able to sit back and chill out shouldnt he?

Does he have to give back...no. But, were does the money come from to make the sport go round? Regardless, that he has to give back wasn't really my point. It's what he could achieve if he did. He doesn't seem to be the type to just chill-out for the rest of his life, and he could make a massive difference to a local scene that is suffering.

Kostya probably figures he does not have to make an official retirement speech as he does not hold any titles. It is not as if somebody is going to give him a gold watch and a superannuation package.

Kostya can go out what ever way he likes and do whatever he likes. He has already done enough for boxing in this country whether he makes a formal announcement or not. People are always ready to suggest how others should conduct themselves after they leave fighting. I am just happy I was around to see Kostya rule the world in the ring....what ever he does now, and how he does it............good luck to him.
