Pele has to win this early, or Mcdermott takes it on points.

Course you would mate :-?

I cant see it going to points, its knock out or be knocked out with Reid. I think McDermott will have too much for him, hopefully he'll turn up in shape cos hes got bags of talent and should be fighting well above English Championship level at this stage of his career

What would you do? Hit him with an overhand keyboard before throwing a monitor to the body?

Back to the main topic, Reid always has the punch to end a fight quickly.
But Big John has a good jab when he chooses to use it, and i think if he covers up well and establishes the jab, then he can break down Pele for a mid round stoppage.

Pele has a seriously underrated jab himself. He, of course, never used it when he was with the Ingles and was in a chin-or-be-chinned mode.

Since joining Richie Woodhall, Pele has been calmer and using his 80-inch jab a lot more – both in sparring and in contests. He primarily worked behind the jab when he went to point for only the second time in his career, against half-decent Roman Suchoterin at the ICC last March.

I reckon Pele will stop McDermott by the fourth.

Would like Pele to win, but expect McDermott to.

They are polar opposites in terms of physique aren't they?

For me McDermott is the more fluid, natural boxer but I reckon our Brummie warrior can use his improved more relaxed boxing, as described by Tom, to overcome the sometimes reluctant McDermott.

Pele to axe him late on for my money

Didn't Pele look shaky a couple of times in his recent bouts?

He got caught by an absolute bomb of a punch from Roman Suchoterin, though took it, didn’t go down and, more importantly, held until his head was clear. Pele wouldn’t have done that in his first crack in the pros.

He had the flu at the time of that Suchoterin bout but recovered from within 10 seconds of being tagged.

Didn't Pele look shaky a couple of times in just about ALL of his bouts?

Having seen him, post Hamed v Calvo, stuck in the mult-storey opposite me - I can say his appetite his genetic.

His mum, dad and presumably bemused girlfriend opened up tubs of chicken legs and tucked in the 4WD.

I was very hungry at the time but didn't fancy suggesting my need was greater than his.

He never turns up in shape, thats the problem! If he did he could quite easily have been in the position Skelton has just found himself in and at least challenge for the European title, but i guess he has no one to blame but himself.

He tried to tell McGuigan once that he ran 5 miles a day.

Bazza was having none of it.
