Watched this fight on NutsTV last night, anyone know how this title fight ended up at a nightclub in Windsor?

Michael was born in the UK but left at the age of 2 when his parents emigrated to Australia, and going by crowd he had alot of support in the UK.
Also Evander Holyfield was in the crowd. the rest of the bill was hardly top quality, all 1 round Ko's

I watched his fight when he defended his IBF title at the Granada studios in Manchester against local hero Najib Daho, Michael was a very good, tough fighter and Daho was up against it that afternoon.

If I remember rightly Michael was angling after a lucrative title defence against Barry McGuigan and stayed on to get that fight but he lost to Lockridge who beat the living daylights out of him - perferating his eardrum if I remember rightly - it was a huge step up in opposition for Barry Michael and he retired straight after the fight.

Yeah thats right, we got some of those programs on TVS in the south.
Used to have some decent fights on there.

I remember a lot of George Collins and Stretchy on 'Seconds Out' was it George Collins opposition on 'Seconds Out' that helped coin the famous Nigel Benn 'Mexican Roadsweeper' remark? (In relation to Fwanks matchmaking?)

Rocky Lockridge is one of the best fighters ever to grace these shores, a cute, punishing fighter who broke Michael's heart. No mean feat.
Sadly, the bill is best remembered for the bomb scare.

A young, soon to become cruiserweight champion and later on heavyweight all-time great was over with Lockridge and Duva and co that night too.

Evander Holyfield, who apparently is also on Soccer AM next Saturday!
