Wembley for Lazcano isn't he?

I dont know, i mean if 20,000 fans are willing to travel to las vegas im sure a lot more will go wembley, especially when he hasnt fought in britain since maussa and its billed as a comeback...but i dont know,
how big is the capacity going to be for a boxing match?

Is it Wembley? I thought it was gonna be City of Manchester Stadium, would make more sense anyway

Yeah, maybe you're right. Just seems as though he's lost a bit of his appeal after being so well beaten, that's the impression I get from people.

The whole country knows Ricky Hatton now. The papers will jump on this and I expect around 70-80,000, which is a joke for a loser who hasn't ever beaten a world-class fighter in their prime and in so many ways has (and does) disgraced the sport of boxing.

Its going to be very interesting too see how this goes. Most boxing fans seem a bit down on Hatton (just look at the posts on this forum.) However, it will be interesting to judge his "popular appeal."

The cruel part of me really hopes that this is going to be a disaster.

It's likely the average fan will go, but unlikely that hardcore fans will.

A lot of people would go to Wembley just for the experience, and just to see what this Hatton fuss is all about. A lot of people going there wouldn't have seen Hatton fight before, or other than his last fight or two.

If it's in Manchester, with a decent undercard, I probably won't unless United are at home that weekend.

Who's promoting the fight? If it were SN you'd have Sn fighters on the undercard, if it were Maloney promotions you'd have maloney fighters on the undercard, however, I cant fathom who'll be on the card?!>?

I wondered the same. Presumably this will be a Team Hatton promoted fight, so they'll only have 2 fighters to access. Interesting to see how this pans out.

I'm convinced GBP want him to set up a UK version of GBP, like they've done with Barrera and Hopkins.

Mayweather and Castillo were big names and hence big fights. Lazcanno is not so even Joe Bloggs and the Media will not make this anything like as big an event. However Ricky Hatton is a bigger name now despite losing so will pull in more casual fans.

20-30k seems likely

No doubt his brother slogging away in a interwotsit fight against an Argie or Russian journeyman.

I reckon this will do good business personally. We all slated Calzaghe v Manfredo, but that did enormous business, and whilst you can chalk this up to the 'contender effect' it was also a show of support from his fanbase.

I think people will be surprised by how well this does. It's a pretty poor fight, fine as a gimme or a homecoming fight, but as said before, should be leading to a Witter showdown. What on earth does Malignaggi bring, other than dollar bills, that Witter doesn't?

I get the drift of your comment, but for a loser, Ricky Hatton has done exceptionally well. He been world champion & made millions of pounds in the process. Not bad for a loser!
