How do you find a local boxing gym? I live in Surrey and I'm interested in just going to one and seeing what I think. The problem is that I wouldn't know how to locate them. Boxing doesn't seem to be up with the times as far as getting websites online.

there'll be an amateur gym in the nearest town of any kind of size I imagine.

Get yourself into a fight outside a local school and hope that a grizzled old boxing trainer is driving past at the time who will notice your raw talent and stop his car and take you under his wing at the local club and teach you the ways of the ring ultimately guiding you to world title glory.

Yeah, I tried that. I'm looking for something in Addlestone, Weybridge or Chertsey as I'm without a car until the Summer.

I was just planning on seeing what the boxing gym is like, not necessarily taking part. Why a School? I'm 22, by the way.

I know you were joking; and I like that. I was just curious.

Sadly I retired in round 1 in my first School fight. I didn't want to fight, especially when the guy had big friends all around.

I did kick a boy in the stomach in primary school and make him cry. Then his brother grabbed my hair. Then my best friend grabbed his brother. Fun times.

The Foley club is in Claygate next to the pub, dunno if it is still going, but certainly was a good gym, pro's Neville Smith and Paul Miles boxed for them, and a couple of the Eastwood's did to.
