I think if you knew anything at all about boxing you'd be more worried about the prospect of another hammering for poor old mike.

yea i posted a thread in current scene
tyson is after money.
holyfoeld is old and will expect a title shot and get pummeled by the champ if not by mike

IF Mike decides to do this for the money, he will be out of there in under 4 rounds.

Typically the punch is the last thing to go, but even with that, Holyfield wins easy. Tyson is a coke head who would rather be doing anything but fighting; Holyfield would stop him inside of 5 this time, as bad as he himself is now.

If these 2 dinosaurs get a licence to fight each other, it could mean the death of boxing!
Tyson should have been banned from boxing forever in 1997. Now that he as retired, the relevant authorities should make sure that he is not relicensed.

But the topic does belong on the Boxers Of The Past forum.

It is their history and the combination of these two boxing legends in the ring that is the appeal. Individually they could no longer draw viewers. But together it could be a monster.

I'm getting fearful; this farce could very well happen soon!
I really hope that Tyson doesn't get relicensed.

This time Mike beats him, but I really don't want to see it. Holyfield is walking on his heels, has been for years. At least Mike still has his brains intact. (what little he ever had)

Another sad irony in the world of boxing.

Ironically, theres more buzz around those two dinosaurs than there was around the Ibragimov-Klitschko bout. Thats the sad thing, but then again its all these newer guys faults and the organizations. Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis were all established as being the last 'true' heavyweight champs, undisputed, etc
I bet 10-1 those two, if the fight happens, will have more ppv buys than Ibragimov-Klitschko done, or at least match it.

I think this is too much of a freakshow to not watch. Holyfield, while he is clearly a long way past his prime, still pushed Ibramigov 12 rounds, who in turn pushed Wlad 12 rounds, all of which happened in the last 12 months.
Tyson hasn't fought since that APPALLING display against Mcbride, and that was 30 months ago
Remember back in '96, when Evander dropped Mike with a short uppercut in the 6th? Look for that same shot to have a LOT more power behind it this time, and Tyson not to rise.

It is sad that of all the modern HW match ups this is still one that gets people talking and er...dare i say it..excited.

Okay I will be the one to say this I would watch this fight if they came to Sweden I would pay to see it but probably just to be able to say that I acctualy saw Holyfield v Tyson III.
It would probably be a freakshow and a bad horrible fight but both of them are legends and even in their old age I would pay to see them fight, hell I payed to see Bowe but that FUKKER! didn't show up.

What evidence do you have to suggest that Tyson still has his brains intact?
He was mentally unstable when he was fighting & he has been allegedly been pump himself full of noxious substances in recent times, so that can't be good for his brain so to speak.

The sad thing, I think you are 100% correct.

Fcuk me! If these get permission from the relvant authorities, then I might apply to fight Tyson or Holyfield! What do you all reckon?
I mean, forget the fact that I weigh 140lbs, & would be giving away a great deal of weight & size to either man!
Is Evander a grandad now?
I can see it now: Riddick Bowe call out the winner!
I was a big Tyson fan, more so for when he was at his best. He was a special fighter during his heyday. When he lost to the likes ofr Williams & McBride, it really saddened me to see him lose & lose in the manner he did.
Both fighters' time has passed, they should try atleast to move on! Tyson has stated he doesn't even have the desire to train solid for three months, let alone make all the required sacrifices to get into proper condition.
If a third bout happens, I will not watch it, no way! Tyson is lightyears away from his peak & I'd rather remember Mike for what he once was, not what he is as a boxer now!
