it did look a bit perculiar, but thorpey was getting caught clean right from the off, the way he waved his hand to the referee as if to say 'no more' indicated to me that thorpe was fully in control of his senses, so not a good move by himself i think.

Whats the rule here? Can a fighter just decide he has had enough, and effectivly choose not to beat the 10 count?

I remember Thorpe Vs Duane Hill in liverpool, Thorpe hit the young prospect with about 20 seconds remaining inducing an 8 count (i think), had daniel had another 5 seconds he'dve beat hill as the sheffield youngster wasnt recovering and thorpe had gone for the kill.
