Apparently AA isn't getting paid big either

I got this weird feeling about Guzman not travelling well/taking AA lightly and Arthur putting up the performance of his career.

Guzman doesn't have a lot of power, but I seem to remember saying the same thing about Mayweather...

Indeed! I can see Guzman outboxing Arthur to the point of mismatch. That may be a bit harsh, but I'm just giving my honest opinion, no disrespect to Alex, who is a good boxer. I just feel Guzman is a level above.

Arthur struggles a lot to make weight (so does Guzman), so that will only add to the problems he will face come fight night! I have a feeling both guys will campaign at LW after this bout!

I hope I'm wrong about Guzman outboxing Alex & that Arthur pulls off the upset. Smashing bloke is Alex!

Oh boy....... i fear Arthur is in for a real pasting here!

I have a lot of respect for Arthur, he is a classy operator, but against the elite of the division, Pacquiao, Marquez and Guzman, i don't give him much of a chance.

Assuming Arthur looses, then i just hope he has his moments in the fight and can come away from it feeling proud of himself. There's very very few fighters from these shores willing to step up to the plate and fight as formidable an oponent as Guzman is right now and Arthur should be applauded for that!

I think the fight didn't quite happen at the right time.

If Arthur was as strong as he was at the wight as in the Palomo fight, and if Guzman travelled badly and felt weak at the weight...well, timing is everything, as per Hatton-Tszyu.

However, even though Guzman has weight problems, it didn't stop him from outboxing the excellent Humberto Soto, who was strong at the weight.

While Arthur looked vulnerable in that cracker of a fight vs Foster Jr.

Anyway, at least it sounds like the fight is on! Props to Warren. In the last fight he put on a domestic classic and in this one his fighter in facing a near p4p level world champion. Even if Arthur fails, full credit for trying.

Don't bank on it, I'll bet there's a shocked look about AA after he connects a few times early on. His hands are a bit fragile, like Calzaghe's, but he usualy goes full tilt in the first round, to give the other guy an idea what he's in for...depends how his hands hold up, but AA's chances of winning here look remote.
That said, it'd be great to seem him pull off a shocker somehow, I might go to this one, depends where it's held.

guzman isnt a puncher on elite world level but this is a simple case of levels. I see it ending inside 3 rounds, i think i'm gonna put money on it.

Due respect to Arthur for taking this fight.

I'm on the same wave length as most and that is Alex is in for one hell of pasting, but I wish him the best of British. I'm just hoping Guzman is in a lazy mood. If he can't shift opponents after his early blitzes he does seem content to keep his nose in front and box clever.

Respect to AA for wanting and pursuing this one as Guzman's one of if not the most fluid boxer in the game at the mo IMO, AA is really up against it here. A Guzman UD has to be favourite, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him stop Alex

Guzman has dodgy hands and isn't a BIG puncher any more (he was murderous in his early career). Guzmans last 7 fights have gone the distance

he isnt a big hitter at elite level but arthur is several leagues away from elite level...do you honestly think he can just ship 12 rounds of brutal punishment after what he's shown so far in his career?

based on the opinion that the gulf in class here will be comparable to Nunn vs Ashley or Wright vs Dodson, if this fight goes ahead, i expect Arthur to be pulled out in or around round 6...

I bet the rock chinned Jorge Barrios would dispute that. After one round with Guzman he had a look on his face like he'd just been hit with a baseball bat.

i remember seeing guzman blast a guy out on that calzaghe undercard in wales, he looked like a killer then but then he fought Joe Morales and couldn't put a dent in him (although Morales is one of the toughest journeymen around). for the last however many fights he's been extended the distance, but again if you look every single one of those guys has been pretty damn hard headed...

the results make it pretty easy to dismiss guzman as an elite puncher but against arthur he's going to look like an animal again.

I love the quote in that article where Guzman just a teensy-weensy bit misses the point of pound for pound...

"I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in my division."

Yeah I was at the Cardiff castle fight, and had never heard of Guzman, but the fight looked a horrible WBO type mismatch, so didn't pay too much attention.
Next time I saw him he was taking out ex champ Sanchez, and in that fight he looked a murderous puncher - winging full blooded shots at a very brave Sanchez, I felt very sorry for the other guy as he was near decapitated in there. I could see where the little Tyson nickname came from.

Still, those fragile hands will give AA hope...not much though.

Guzman is one of the most talented guys in the sport.

Props to AA for taking the fight, it certainly isn't the normal kind of bout for a Sports Network fighter!

Can only see this ending one way...
